In fact, there are a lot of great guitar pedals out there that are affordable and perfect for worship!

So we decided to do a video series highlighting 8 mostly under $50 guitar pedals & how to approach each type of pedal in worship!

It’s so much more than a quick look at 8 different guitar pedals.

This series is an in-depth look at the role each type of pedal plays in a worship guitar setting & how to dial in the perfect sound.

Hosted by the legendary producer, Chad Carouthers who’s played for Kari Jobe & Israel Houghton!

Today Chad shows you how to make a $39 amp simulator pedal sound unreal!

  • Oh man you spoke to my soul right now!!! Thank you for addressing the guitarist's insecurity. Worship leaders need to be that! When we get lost in the hobby of guitar playing, I think we can gate keep the joy of worshiping with guitar from new players. We need more content like this!!!!

  • I have a Boss GX100. It does absolutely everything I need for worship at church, and it does it very well. Great feel, great delays and reverbs. I run 2 drives, parametric eq, noise gate, 2 delays and 2 reverbs in a single patch no problem. $600 new.

  • I apperciate this man. Not everyone can afford a 750.00 multi effects unit. I ONLY started playing a couple of years ago. My wife developed some health issues and we couldn't and STILL can't afford much. I still use much of the cheaper stuff I got. I think it sounds good though. Thanks for the video and it let's broke guys like me that the cheaper guitar effects can still can get a great guitar sound.

  • I noticed a stereo output on the reverb. What DI is it running into? Is it also "affordable"? Is it passive or active?

  • I’ve been using the Caline CP-55 (Americana) as an amp replacement for well over a year and I love it. I may eventually replace it with the iridium or UA Dream, but the $40 pedal is hard to beat right now.

  • I have it on good authority from Beelzebub himself that an Earthquaker Devices Data Corrupter Monophonic PLL Synth Pedal would increase your Saved Soul Success Rate (patent pending) by 66.6% #jesusbuiltmyjazzmaster

  • Haha, Eric Johnson's touring pedalboard is simply layed out on a thin plywood board, with wires everywhere 🙂

  • That is a surprisingly good sounding amp sim!

I definitely think there is a hump to get over when it comes to gear insecurity. It takes time but eventually I cared less about what was considered good and just playing the gear I liked. Takes time though. I don’t think anyone could have talked me out of it unless it was my idea. Lol

  • For the amp pedal, surprised you chose the KLine over the Joyo AC Tone at under $40. The Joyo is considered the standard for a cheap AC-30 character pedal. Gone side by side with the Tech 21 Liverpool in numerous comparisons, which is what these Ac-30 pedals are all based off of.

  • I met Chad when he was in Portland with Kari playing bass. He was so creative, really inspired me like no one else did.

Followed him ever since. This guy is the real deal. I need more content from him
