• Hey Doc, long-time guitarist here. I usually love your stuff but these guitars still sound a bit "fake and mechanical" to me. Now if that's what you're going for that's great, but there's definitely something in there that doesn't sound quite right to a guitarist's ear. In the mix it probably wouldn't be noticeable though, depending on the role that the guitars play in the song.

• I made my own DI guitar samplers years ago in Logic because I could find or afford plugins that sounded convincing. I ended up learning how to play basic rhythm guitar by doing that.

• Great subject Doc! If you’re someone who isn’t a mult- instrumentalist these tools are incredible. I’m a singer, drummer, and can get around on keyboards. I recorded a Christmas album last year using these exact native instruments sessions series, strummed and picked acoustics, LP deluxe, electric mint strat, and icon bass. Here’s a link to that project if you want to hear em in action! I did all vocals, drums, keys, and VSTs along with Dr Bob mixing tutorials! Be it a writing demo or a full production, these tools were a way to allow me to do everything myself! For better or worse! ???? thanks Doc!!!

• Great video Bob.
  I actually have several of those libraries myself and use them often, even though i'm a professional guitar player. I use these for the exact reasons you gave. I also use them along with real guitar parts to help fatten up or thicken my guitar tracks — saves me time on having to use plugins for that purpose.

• RealLPC rules. I use it a lot when my guitar friends are busy. Run it through an amp sim , edit the voelocity and it's very convincing.

• Cool sounding plugins! Ive found it real hard too to find realistic guitar ones to the point ive never used one yet for a guitar part.
  I find it easier to be creative and come up with parts when im not thinking "how to play it" in the creative provess. So plugins for me are a creative tool to sometimes come up with parts i wouldn't think of sitting there with a guitar.
  One of my favourite things about home recording is the process of being able to sit there and listen to the song as its being written/produced and think whats a cool sound this song needs.. and then just do it, can always record it later through a guitar but gotta get the idea down first!!!!

• Great to grab ideas but if you are a guitarist it might be faster to put a mic and play. To me it would be more fun but I get it that you do it as time is limited and you need to get production ready ideas fast

• Sounds great. For some reason or other, very few people can make a keyboard sound like a guitar convincingly, irrespective of the plugin or synth, even if they play guitar well. You’ve got it!
