  • Wow… this was way more popular than I thought it would be. Would you like me to do some similar videos? Just let me know any suggestions in the comments section below 🙂

  • Thanks for mentioning the Katana, I don’t see why you would buy a small practice amp that can only do one thing instead of an amp that can also be used for gigs.

  • Hi Chappers, totally agree with the play without an amp point, have been doing it for years out of habit but only realized it was ok once you said it! Loved all the options and the way you put it, awesome! Thanks a lot.

  • You missed one that is a British made small practice amp that is smaller than and has some of the features as the Katana has and at under $200 USD new or under $100 used like I got mine a few years ago, it sounds great and is actually smaller than the katana.. That tiny 14 lb or about 6 Kilo solid state amp is the Blackstar ID Core stereo 40. I have the original version and with it's twin 6.5IN stereo speakers you can crank it up and bug the neighbors or use headphones to go stealth mode. If I want more volume and deeper tones I simply use a 1/8"stereo to 2 RCA's from the headphone out of the amp and into the CD in of my surround sound system receiver. In full surround sound mode with the subwoofer active I get low end to die for and clear highs along with a lot more volume overall from all around me ( surround sound remember.) so more louder is more better, Right??

  • Chapman Guitars???… Nope never heard of 'em . Except for the three I own!????

    P.S. I've owned the Yamaha THR30 II for almost 2 years & it is the best, most used piece of gear I have(excluding guitars)!
    Use it everyday & wish I had something like it in the 80's when I was a newbee. The best practice amp for home & band practice when you are working out new songs or have a no drums practice. Which sucks azz, I'm a axe slinger but my favorite instruments are the drums. Lets hear it for drummers the hardest working member of every band! But I digress because now I need the Waza Air for travel.

  • I liked my Line 6 XP Pro with aux input and headphones until it died maybe 10 years later. I loved the virtual changing amp, cabs, mics and miv positions until it died one day. A few years ago, to practice bass (my main thing), I'd set the board to clean, use the aux and headphone out pushed by a TECH 21 VT Bass Deluxe to push the bass. I'm now retiring a BOSS GT-100 board, which was not nearly as virtual. I'd still set it to clean and use my VT Bass. I just got and set up a Marshall CODE50, which is also virtual, and controlled from my cell phone. We'll see. For real gigs I have a MarkBass Little Mark Tube 800, a front vented MarkBass 4 x10, and an old front vented 1 x 15 stack. For guitar I have a B-52 100-watt half triple rectifier half stack that I got at an unreal price because of certificates and sales. It runs on 12 A z and Y 7s. and has 4 6L6s.These last 2 can blow my neighbors away, but a mainly practice at night with headphones. The Marshall does have an aux in and headphone out. I just got it yesterday and have played a little with it, and I think it will do what I want for practice.

  • Damn man, your bends are freakin right on. I mean, I know you're a pro guitarist but I've seen plenty of pros f up bends here and there. You have a gift with them. It's always nice to see someone's strength. Like Scott Ian with his palm muting, for instance.

  • The trick with this amp to get Clarity is use less gain than you think you should and is less bass to get that mid range honk that vintage Marshall are known for.
    I have had a bunch of the DSL series amps from the 1 watt head up to the 40 watt combo and my favorite is the 1 watt head but if I was playing out again i would use the DSL 40 combo but it's freaking loud !

  • For those who can't afford Wazza Air just buy an iRig 2HD and play into your headhpones.

  • Now there's more to choose from… Fender headphone amp Mustang Micro (only 100 euro), Positive grid Spark amp and the Nu-x Mighty Space.

  • Of course, the real advantage of the Waza headphones is NOT that your babies will not be awakened, but that YOU won't hear them wailing away so it's up to your significant other to handle that. Kidding, of course…

  • My gosh … so let's see:
    * Both named Rob
    * Both make killer metal music
    * Both have killer beards

    Totally agree with #1, will be ordering a ChapmanAir1000+ (I do want the extras)
    Actually, I once bought a very cheap (50 USD) boutique stratclone. Had no amp to test it, but I just loved the way the actual instrument sounded on its own. Its electronics were a mess, but a bit of elbow-grease later it turned into a very cherished guitar. So yeah, if you like how your guitar sounds, adding mics to it will give you more of that base sound.

  • bro, this video is nearly useless…

    people looking for practice amp, give them credit for not needing to be told "hey try practicing without an amp"… we're not children (well maybe some are).

    Your next rec is headphones? plugged into what? you don't explain, and you don't really even tell us which headphones you're using, no link… another wasted couple minutes.

    sorry mate, but just wanted to give you the feedback…

  • In regards to the Waza, what if you're a parent trying to escape the loudness of your children?….lol

  • Hey Rob! Massive fan!!!
    So, i understand it has been 2 years, but i recon it's still relevant lol.. You can watch Mandalorian season 3 through a VPN service that masks your ip address and allow you to watch content that is blocked by certain countries… And dude, really, if you havent watched yet I'll lend you my Disney+account!! I f*$&^# love mandalorian and your videos! Cheers!!

  • Thanks for suggestions. Sorry, no amp is no option for me. When I noodle with no amp, I cannot play clearly, some noises and overtones get out of control. So it's not the best practice, IMHO.

  • 15:20 I have a Katana 100 and i never thought of turning the MASTER loud and then VOULME low. It actually sounds a lot more ROCK that way. Thanks man 😀

  • Honestly i came here to check out if might get a practise amp, but playing it without, what i do all the time does the job and since you told me some benefits i kinda like it better i think than a shitty sounding amp, either blast or acoustic for me from now, thanks for that advice ❤

  • What's sad is, I had to go in to the comments section to find out the name of the headphones and the Yamaha amp model.

  • When everything crashed I noticed your bad ass ceiling. Could you show it sometime in an upcoming video and tell us how and why it was made that way? I know it is for sound dampening but this would make a great video for home studio players. Thanks for all the videos. Your da man

  • For those who have doubts about the first amp and its "lack of power" I've been using this amp for over 10 years for practice, rehearsal and gigging and nobody has ever complained about not hearing the guitarist, definitely recommend
