AMPED 3: Has Blackstar Just Dropped the Most Versatile GUITAR AMP PEDAL Ever?
Blackstar has announced the release of the third in their AMPED series of pedalboard amplifiers. Much like this unit’s predecessors, the AMPED 3 features a 100w amplifier switchable down to 20 and 1 watt, a plethora of ins and outs including midi, USB and XLR, and the ability to power a cab or run direct to the PA! What the AMPED 3 does offer over its siblings is a foot-switchable multi-channel amp complete with reverb and a switchable boost to complement the same excellent tone we have come to expect from this series.

Funny thing because I find this thing sounding way better than other blackstar amps including all valve models.
Any long term users who can comment on reliability?
Using gu zoom effects pedal. Just interested in using this things power to run the effects pedal through it. Probably the wrong amp pedal for me then

Yeah, after seeing this review, I bought it via Thomann and it just wasn't anywhere near loud enough! I wanted to use it live, but after trying it out, using it with a Blackstar 80watt speaker (16 ohms) in my dining room, it worked reasonably OK for an hour or so (but not loud enough!!) and then all the lights started to twinkle and it cut out. Next day I tried again and after about 10 minutes, the same thing happened. I videoed this and sent it to Blackstar, asking for an explanation. Despite two follow-up emails, I have had no response. Not good customer relations at all! Needless to say, I sent it back to Thomann.
It sounds good..i bought one weeks ago. Sounds awesome in the bedroom..no use live tho . Its simply not got enough power..sounds totally different if you use as an fx pedal…100 watts is very good marketing but its never loud enough to use on stage ..
Is it a very bright amp cuz I noticed the treble and presence were rolled back a bit.

Does the master volume affect the line out?
Hi there. I would use this live. I have an 80 watt cab and a 50 watt cab, both 16 ohms. Can I safely use either (or both by linking them up) using the 100 watt setting on the Amped? Also, can I set the three channels to get progressively louder from clean to crunch to overdrive o or will I have to use the volume control manually to do this? By the way, nice concise review, allowing the product to shine, without it being a demo of your playing ability, as on most other reviews.
Can someone compare this with ToneX pedal?
Most versatile? Give Me a break:) It's a modeler, there many out there, the ones that can capture real amp tones are way superior to this. I believe it's good but most versatile???:)
Does the power switch 1-20-100 watt work with the XLR out?
Nope, the chorus and other FX from AMPED 2 have gone walk about. Time to wait for AMPED 4
Decent demo, I just really wish your OD sound wasn't so scooped! I've just seen much better examples of metal tone in other reviews/demo's for this is all.
I would use this amp 3 as 6l6 in 1 watt!
So do you just run it thru your amp, on a clean setting ?
Can I ask, as you have experienced Amped 1 and 2, if the tone 'range' is as wide on the 2 as the 3? Or is there far more 'gain / distortion' with the 3? I would like to have as wide a range as possible but I think the 2 suits my needs better, i.e. fly rig. Thx
Can you not save presets? Is in clean el84 then drive auto switch to el34
