These little Fender amps are really awesome. They are the perfect practice amp full of good tube tones as well as perfect for any home or studio recording application. They are 15 watts with a 10″ Fender Special Design Speaker, 12AX2 preamp Tube and 2x 6V6 Output tubes give this little amplifier some killer tones!

You can, of course, USB connect this amplifier into the computer and mess with the settings but I am just showing you what you can expect from this unit straight away with no tinkering.

The Super Champ X2 combo amplifier combines 15 watts of rich, dual-channel tube amp sound with modern extra such as versatile amp voicing and a wide selection of digital effects. It’s simple, tone-full, and flexible, and with its easy computer connectivity, you can also custom tailor your amp’s voicing and effects to your personal taste. Your rehearsal and recording sessions will really come alive with the unlimited tones that can be created with the Super Champ X2.

Made in Ensenada, Mexico, the Super Champ X2 features a single 10″ Fender Special Design speaker, voicing knob for selection of 16 different amp types (tweed, Blackface, British, Hot Rod, metal, and more), 15 effects with level control, dual-channel switching (footswitch optional), tap tempo control for precise delay time adjustment, 1/4″ line output, external speaker capability and USB output for speaker-emulated digital recording. • Good job on the facts and timbres. I want one. Easy on the back to carry and loud enough to piss off any grandmother~

  • I am a boutique snob. I bought this simply out of curiosity because Fender would never release a low watt head. I was surprised. The quality of tone from the clean channel basically competes with top shelf amps. It end there. The sims completely suck. I never had luck with sims. You may find a useable
Effect. It’s worth $300, and then some, just for the clean channel.

  • Excellent review / demo. I keep coming back to it to remind myself to use different settings (it’s the only guitar amp I’ve ever owned. I guess my wife got it right first time!).

  • This is a great amp. I put a Greenback in mine to beef it up a bit. It did run out of headroom on a gig once but I should have taken another amp. I also have a Deluxe TM, a ‘68 Custom Deluxe, a ‘59 Bassman RI (90s version) a ‘66 Bassman head, a Rumble 100 bass amp, and even a Performer 1000, plus some non Fender amps. Bottom line, I think Fender makes great stuff.

  • The XD is even better. Smaller gain. Real man's amp for people who like music notes not mashed oatmeal-noise.

  • Does the reverb work on the Fender super champ x2 when the effects are turned off, that is, it turns off only when it is muted? That's how it works for me, maybe it's a malfunction?!

  • I have one of these, it has the Ragin cajun speaker in it and always sounds really muddy, no matter the input. Might just not be my cup of tea.

  • It's a shame these were discontinued. This is one of the best small amps Fender has put out. I'm not saying it's a better amp than Fender's classic tube amp models such as the Deluxe Reverb or Princeton, but it's such a versatile practice amp. You can get so many different sounds and cover so much ground with it. Although it's a hybrid amp with a modeling section, it sounds and feels much more authentic than the digital modeling amps. I'm glad these are still around on the used market in good condition. I plan to get one in the next couple of months. I need a good versatile "around the house" amp that I can also use for small jams with friends.

  • nice demo, just picked one up used with a G&L ASAT Classic Tele model. loving em both for home practice & possibly some small trio gigs. like your demo as you know how to play & have nice licks where some demo's are done by half ass guitarist

  • all of these reviews are of gains way high, because channel 2 is usually the higher gain channel, but they dont tell you a lot of these voices are actually classic CLEAN amps by fender. not to mention with fender fuse you can make your own sounds for each voicing as well as find thousands more from other users online.

  • I’m 9 years late… but can anyone tell me if there are any problems with any ambient buzz with this amp? That’s a huge problem with my current amp

  • I do respect Shane over other reviewers as he is honest and points out the negatives as well as the positives .

  • So you can't have both tremolo and reverb at the same time? That's a deal breaker.
