Elevate your PROFILER Player
The PROFILER Player is the most powerful package from Kemper in regards of tone and footprint. Now, the time has come even to add some extra gravitas, increase the impact of the Player’s footprint!
And here it is: The feature Boost for your PROFILER Player. And the Boost comes in two flavours – LVL II & LVL III
The LVL II Boost is exactly what you expected and wished for. You get all the amazing FX types the PROFILER is famous for. And yes, this includes the amazing “big machine”-type Reverbs, Delays, the Pitch Shifters, the Shapers, and all the Modulation FX.
And yes, there is the Kemper Drive System and Kemper Fuzz System, there are all the Equalizers. And there is access to the highly acclaimed Impedance Switch you all love from the PROFILER Stage for getting that ultra-authentic feel and behavior of your FUZZ tones.

Their pay to upgrade system guarantees I’m never gonna buy a Kemper product in my lifetime.

On the website its said "The Player Upgrade LVL III gives you 125 banks with 5 rigs each". How are the 5 rigs organised with the 3 buttons? I would be really interested in that…;)
Reading the comments here is proof that the majority of guitarists are spoiled brats who think the industry owes them a living.
And then of course we have Line 6 owners telling us Line 6 have been giving free updates since 1927 and fractal have been giving free updates since 1926, etc etc etc, ad nauseum.
Yes Kemper have also been giving their users free updates since 2012…this is the first paid UPGRADE, and it's NOT compulsory, you will not be indicted and jailed if you refuse to pay for the upgrade.

If you only have the player and want to remain small then
Do it.Both upgrades
If you already have a stage ,toaster,or rack mount but have the player,I say no
I bought the player for what it was ,something I can throw and fly or for tight areas
I’m keeping it as is
Just needed the midis switches to get quicker access to profiles and effects and tuner.
Strip version perfect for that .

The internet is full of trolls and trollish haters. No other company gives the opportunity to pay to turn their small units into fullblown big ones in small form factors. What if fractal gave you the opportunity to buy an upgrade to make the fm3 a fullblown AxeFX3? What if Line6 gave you a paid upgrade to make the HXStomp a fullblown Helix? All you haters out there are only bitter trolls.

Sold my Player the day the Nanocortex dropped. Couldn't be happier. I easily profiled my own amp, and it sounds perfect. For less than the Player, Im profiling my own amps, and using my analog pedals in front of it. Perfect for my needs and with all these paid upgrades, that' pushes the player over 1k. No thanks.
I am completely disappointed with what Kemper has come up with. I hope this doesn’t happen with other products like Line6 Fractal QC ETC………

Will you get more midi features? I wonder if the expand too the MIDI possibilities or more control over effects on/off switches and control over FX parametters?

Great video! How do you assign morph to the second press of a foot switch, with the first press being rig select? I wan to go far left clean, then morph to clean ambient. Far right crunch, then morph to lead. Center would be tap tempo / tuner. Thanks!

Which level is the acoustic simulator on?
I love this by Kemper as the Player has allowed me entry into the Kemper ecosystem as I'm not someone who could afford the bigger and more expensive Kempers. This way I can upgrade my Kemper experience when I can afford to do so in increments.

Yeah, this paid update stuff is bullshit. Most of these features should have been available upon release. Charging for an update that costs almost half the base price of the unit is insanity.
Please do not support this greedy kind of business… other companies such as line 6 or fractal have been delivering wonderful updates and listening to the community for years without charging anything.

I also bought the level II + III upgrade. It was a little bit tricky to register. You need to install the beta version of the Rig Manager and Firmware. After that you get the additional menu Profiler -> Install Feature Upgrade in the Rig Manager to register the upgrade and get the functionality like the Stage.
As Stage user I love the possibility to copy and paste my Stage Rigs now to the Player.
For all users that don´t need the additional functionality of the big Kempers (Toaster, Rack, Stage): Don´t pay for the higher level. You can, but you mustn´t.
And for all users of big Kempers, that want the full functionality of them also with the Player and an easy way to copy and paste your Rigs from a big Kemper to the Player:
Take the Level II + III package. Just my two cents.
Ive had my kemper for 12 years and love it…also have a stage and a player. But paying $300 for an upgrade on an os that has been the same for 12 years seems steep.
When the player came out it was competing with the hx stomp now the player is over 1k and you may need a midi pedal to control more “stomps”.
My only question —— Where can I get the 299 euros?????
Meh. This is the sort of upgrade that comes for free from Line6. Hardware that is hiding behind a software paywall is not something I want to pay for.
Between the paywalls hiding features for modelers and many amp sims shifting to subscription based, I think I’ll just stick with my old school amp and pedal setup. At least I know I physically own everything ????
Can you stack Drive ?
How do you feel the latency with a simple chain (e.g., amp + cab) and with a more complex chain of effects (e.g. overdrive + amp + cab + reverb + delay)?

Does it allow to do whammy and Wah with expression pedal? Is it possible to only use the effects blocks in front of another module or profiler pedal?
