  • The first Charlie Daniels song I remember hearing is "Wichita County Jail"
You might like that one too

  • Trudy (from the same album) is great. Rock & Roll comes primarily from country, western swing, and blues; and there's a lot of crossover. You might also like rockabilly (early Elvis, Carl Perkins, Billy Lee Riley, etc.) or western swing (Merle Travis, Asleep at the Wheel).

  • That was a dobro solo in the middle. Lovely. Also, country came from a lot of different things and blues comprised a lot of different things both of them early on, and then in a lot of ways of thinking, rock and roll was birthed out of a combination of the two. And then of course all three of them continued to expand in their individual directions to with frequent crossing over.

  • How fun! I like all kinds of music from all parts of the world and all different times, but this is my favorite Charlie Daniels Band song. In fact we used to cover it in a band I was in, but mostly, it's just so relaxing to listen to, and it always brings a smile to my face. It's easy for me to imagine sitting by the edge of a river or a pond or some woods with your dog and there's a gentle breeze and dappled sunlight and it's not too hot and it's not too cold, and you're just totally relaxing.

  • Country came first but some rockers went country as they got old and mellowed they would crossover. It still happens. 🙂

  • Charlie Daniels is/was a Statesman of American country music. His song "America" is in the circle of patriotic songs that include Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American," Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue," Elvis Presley's "American Trilogy," and Johnny Cash's "Ragged Old Flag" as emblematic of the love these folks had for our country and their willingness to stand up and declare that love. Any and all of them are worthy of your notice and admiration. None of them will be forgotten at the end of the day. Thanks for playing this, and I hope you will keep looking in this direction from time to time.

  • Charlie Daniels was a good song storyteller. Some other songs to react are "Uneasy Rider", "The Legend Of Wooly Swamp" and "The South's Gonna Do It Again". I also want to mention about your audio and video levels. Audio is over modulating and your white video level needs to be turned down a bit. Enjoy your analysis of music. ☺ Thanks. I also like to request "Children Of The Sun" by Billy Thorpe. Thanks. Again.
