  • You have the nicest guitars and you really do them all justice. My Strat and Deluxe Reverb seems almost wasted on me, but I enjoy them.

  • I’ll stick with my Roland Blues Cube Artist. Incredible tones at whisper volume and gig volume without needing to buy extra gear to attenuate. They sound and feel SO good. Not saying they sound “as good as” a Two Rock or Dumble but for $450 used you can’t beat it.

  • Super sound !
Why do you like the OD tone of your Dirty Shirley amp style wherease you prefer the sound with a drive pedal on the friedman IR-D ?

Also can you make a video on the new update ?

    Cheers

  • Lovely playing as always John. Are you using pedals with these amps or are all the clips straight into the amp? Particularly the outro with the SG?

  • Being in the room with a great amp is like experiencing the Gand Canyon in person at sunrise or sunset. It can be captured but there’s nothing like the real thing.
That said, we now have the technology to bring it with us in our pocket! Almost…
I love my Mesa Lonestar Special

  • I think someone else already this, but I was surprised to not see the Suhr Bella Reverb on here. I think you mentioned liking it as much or more than the Two Rock SSS after the first video, and you did two video runs with it. That and the Two Rock SSS are my two favorite tones I've heard from you on this channel.

My favorite amp that I've played so far is the Tone King Imperial MkII. I recently got to place an Amplified Nation Wonderland Overdrive with a matching 2×12 cab, and while I thought it was the best clean tone I've ever heard, I really really did not get on with the overdrive.

Nice video and great playing as always.

  • The tone from your fingers, along with the sg, and bella, sure sounded awesome to me…had a powerful, bright, and stringy, clean tone.

  • Each night i dream that i own a silver string singer, then i am awake and see my line 6 amp……. bummer! ????

  • I went to a shop to try a suhr bella after listening to your video which sounded really good , but i ended up getting a bartel sugarland second hand. Have you tried a bartel?

  • About 5 minutes in you said exactly what I was thinking. The Two Rocks sound great on their own, but might get lost in the mix with those lush low mid frequencies being covered by the other instruments.

  • I think me and you are very similar in that we like a nice full overdriven sound but still want clarity (which is why we like EV’s). My search ended with a Bogner Goldfinger SL which can has full, low mids and rounded highs. Mines not in use at the moment so could do a lend but it would need to be shipped

  • Be interested to know what you thought of the Two rock burnside….. I bought one of the older 18w versions a while back for under £1500. Beautiful cleans and nice drive if you can stand the volume ????

  • Dude you could plug in to a turnip and it would sound good ????. And you are playing the uk wedding circuit? So am I – but we are not in the same league! Love your playing and your videos man. Take care.

  • Can you recreate an updated version of Ross Campbell's Lenny tone on the hx stomp?

  • FULLER and less ice picky sound than ANY of the modelers. And I've decicided that the best D pedals are the real tube preamps

  • Calling the deluxe reverb reissue underrated is crazy because its literally the most popular amp.

A real vintage blackface deluxe reverb once you understand how it responds is literally the perfect amp. You can play any type of guitar, any style(except metal), at reasonable volumes.
