  • So, couple of things.
1.Eastman uses zero imitation materials for nuts and saddles. All none even down to the $300 models.
    2. The satin headstock is interesting on an E6. I’ve seen several models that were supposed to come with gloss headstock, full body, etc. I’ve also seen guitars that were to come in all satin, that were full gloss.
3.Sapele necks are used on the pch models, mahogany on E6 models +
    3. Tuners were gotoh originally, they switched to Pingwell a few years back.
Lower end models could use a tuner change. I know some of the sb(les Paul) models come with gotohs from what I’ve seen in person.

Glad you got to check them out. The lower models crush it as well. You get a TON of guitar for the money.

  • Eastman guitars have higher quality wood than Martin, Taylor or Gibson. They seem budget compared to them.

  • Welcome to the neighborhood. In the world of archtops, they are a big, big deal. Their steel-string acoustic flattops are fine guitars at twice the money. Love them.

In another culture, I have to imagine that many of their employees would be highly respected luthiers known individually for their work.

  • I have the E6 OM TC. I have owned Martin 00015. The Eastman is very good and represents a good value, no question. The only negative for me are the frets; while well crowned and smooth ended, they are a little on the speed bump side. But the money I can spend on a luthier job to correct that would probably still have me coming out with more change than spending on a new Martin. Not that you will go wrong with a Martin!

  • I have an Eastman AC122-1CE it’s a decent guitar I like it a lot and yes the price is why I bought it but the reviews were also very much an influence too. I’m very happy with it

  • The second guitar sounded pretty tight… Honestly you don't have to overbuild a guitar for it to last 20-30 years! I would just go with a Yamaha red label over either of those guitars…. Though I am fond of some eastmans. Those ones seem pretty overbuilt though… especially the second one

  • I paid $429 for my Eastman guitar. I got a whole lot of guitar for that amount of money. Set up correctly came from the factory that way. Workmanship is just awesome. And it does give me what I love in a guitar.

  • I just bought a 2021 E10D-SB on Reverb for $899. I’m absolutely blown away by how good this thing sounds… unbelievable value for the money. The only thing I don’t love about it is the 12” radius fingerboard- but I’m getting used to it. After buying this I bought an Eastman MD505-BK mandolin- addy black top for $1099 from The Acoustic Shoppe (my new favorite music store) Unbelievable value! I also just ordered an E1OM Special…

  • In my experience the top on Eastmans is only double thickness in a small ring around the soundhole. Presumably to avoid splitting. The rest of the top (i.e. 99% of it) is of normal thickness.

  • you are a light in this world, therefore a light worker. the callouses will thicken against the naysayers and they'll fall away like dead leaves.

  • i Love your passion and I am like-minded in your love of guitars. pulling the trigger on a used E6… opening new guitars, pleasures in life. amen

  • The sustain on the second guitar is remarkable. Amused why they can't be more creative with their model names.

  • My Eastman looks and sounds beautiful but when I went to sell it due to health problems I couldn't get anyone to offer me anything for it ? No name recognition! If it were any model of Martin it would sell in a minute if priced reasonably ! Just the way it is ????

  • Thank you very much for this video!! I bought a E20D-MR-TC one month ago from a dealer an hour from me & I’m thrilled!! Thanks for your brotherhood philosophy!!❤ I’m part of that now!!

  • I have a Blueridge BR-163 and I guess I'm one of the few people that actually love the headstock! Also, the guitar is the easiest guitar to play of all my guitars and sounds great.

  • The top on my e6dtc is no thicker thicker than a Martin d18 may even be slightly thinnner but it’s definitely no thicker for sure.

    Reply
  • The thickness of the top is only at the rosette like that, ( from what I've researched online) it's doubled in that rosette area. Try to take of the strings or loose them and reach your hand inside…

  • If your gonna review guitasr you should be knowledgeable. The guitars are not overbuilt, just solid as you can tell from the volume, and great tone! They are hand built and tops are tuned. Also the tops are graduated and they use thicker "graduated tops with lighter thinner bracing". There is more thickness around the soundhole with a laminated ring for strength and wear, great idea for big strummers! Eastman has some of the most comfortable necks around, either for a beginner or the pro. All solid woods, ebony, MOP. BTW it's real mahogany from Central/ S. America, or Mexico, not Khaya, Sapele or Utile. Great cases…excellent craftsmanship and KILLER prices…They sound and play great, with superb neck sets and great saddle height, no one touches them for now.

  • Just come across this, I've owned a few Eastman's and by far the quality is better than most budget American made guitars., I am on the fence as I just bought an AC322CEL and am contemplating selling my 20-year-old 314, which does have a tinner top, but the sounds are near identical. my Taylor 314 is phenomenal and in near mint condition non gigged, and I'm at a loss for how my new Eastman Ac322CEL sounds. If it sounds this good now being 2 days old, I can't wait to hear it open up and grow.

  • Jeremy, do you still think that the tops are thick?
Isn't there a brace type of ring on the inside of the sound hole?

  • I owned one of these without the TC top. I loved it. So sorry I sold it. I’ve owned 8 different models. Really nice guitars for the money. Nothing to be ashamed of when owning these. I wish I didn’t sell the ones I did. It was the snob factor. Everyone saying “ hey, you need a 00028”. Wrong

  • I have the Eastman E20OM for 7 years now. It gets better with every year that passes. Awesome guitars..
