Rickenbacker on a budget? Harley Benton RB-600CS Guitar Review
I was pleasantly surprised by this budget Rickenbacker copy. Quite an in depth review and it is really fun to play.

What do you mean by adjust Internation and how do you use tyh trussrod to addjust the neck?
What i personally want totally bad is a guitar with the short neck of the rick 325, i dont even know who would buy this guitar you show here. Its useless and sensless to me with the normal length neck.

Gotta say, (being a former Rick owner) I like that the pickups are NOT muddy.
That really didn't sound good or anything like a Rickenbacker.
I feel cheated on the full Guitar Geek experience without the fro!
I think it would have been good if you had added a segment at the end of the video that shows what the guitar can sound like with the minor setup issues resolved.
In this way, people could decide if the guitar and a little extra werk is worth the effort to them.

As a very long time Rickenbacker owner, since 1971, my first tip is take that bridge cover off and lose it, you cant mute strings with the damn thing on and easier to anchor you right hand. Jury is out on Harley Bentons, cant beat the price point but I don't think the QC is there yet… But then again, for a cheap quirky guitar… what the hey…
Man, you criticize a lot. Strike the damn strings and blow the roof off the sucker if you got something we never heard before in you. That's why it's not a high cost guitar. Dig it!????
It IS (or was 4 years ago) a £178.00 guitar, after all! Plus the pickguard being ‘two tier’… pure Ricky!
Scarf joints are actually often stronger, when an angled headstock is present, than a single piece neck, which tends to have easily splittable vertical grain crossing the weakest area where the neck transitions to the headstock, resulting in the traditional ‘neck break’ seen on a variety of Gibson guitars, including the new cased, and carefully cartoned, ES-335 I received by courier 7 years ago; neither the case nor the carton showing any sign of damage.
If you think such things at the price point are unacceptable, I would think you would want to restrict yourself to reviewing guitars in the £700+ range.
Compared to the rubbish available at a similar price point 10-15 years ago, the quality vs. price equation offered here is quite remarkable.
I just got one and oh man it's great.
It has a bit of fret buzzing at the 15th fret, but that'll be easy to fix.
Despite the "hollowed" part isn't that big, I still can get nice feedback (which is something I was looking for)
Cool video I have one to changed to brass nut and scallop and flite the frets now it. Rocks rock on

Anyone knows if this guitar is bigger than a Rickenbacker 325 or is a similar size?
Love my Harley Benton (HB) RB-600. I love the look and sound of Rickenbackers (RB) but hate their fretboards. I really don't like the gloss finish on the RB fretboards and the frets are so low. Also, RB fretboards are quite flat. I've owned a Rickenbacker 620 and sold it for these reasons. Regardless of the price, I much prefer playing my HB RB-600 with its more traditional / contemporary fretboard design. Plays like a dream with nice low action ????

I would be interested to know if the guitars of the 50's and 60's, which are now celebrated as legendary instruments, were perfect in all the small things that are criticized here.
Would love a natural finish.
I fully understand some musician's fascination with Harley Benton. I used to criticize HBenton years ago before having tried one and that was foolish. Fortunately I am lucky enough to have several guitars that are mid price to high price and believe me I'm 55 and if there's one thing I've learned it's how to be grateful for your lot in life. Nevertheless I have owned approximately 10 or 12 Harley Bentons and I have sold them all and honestly they are worth what you pay for them for example a H Benton SC-550 that costs 260 euros is worth 260 euros it's not worth 600 euros like certain Epiphone Les Paul models. But Harley Benton came in at prices sometimes lower than your Squier Affinity and Epiphone Special and are far better so it helps that a lot of musicians especially younger kids who can get a decent or a few decent guitars without breaking the bank.
FFS, it's not a custom shop Fender. It's not gonna be pristine perfection. What do you really expect for around $250? you need to decrease your expectations.

The single ply white double pick guard is a Rickenbacker thing.
Thanks for the nice review. It is not a Rickenbacker for many reasons. But like many of these types of guitars – with the right set up which includes reversing the string positions of the octave strings, using some specific effects, and flatwound strings you can end up with a close approximation soundwise for about a third of the price of the real thing. Cheers from the land down under.

I have a Wolf W300 and its based on a 300 series, plays awesome and sounds great. They have a few instock for $450, but not sure how much longer they will have them. Id like to try this HB out this looks sweet.
