How's the routing under the bridge pickup? Any chance another humbucker would fit under there?

Just picked one up brand new from Ebay for £65. so far I'm loving it.
Awesome video as always!! I received this exact guitar and the only thing I’ve done to it so far is Shielded the cavities and the back of the pick guard with conductive copper take and wax potted both pickups. What I did notice when I removed the pickups to wax then that the bare wire from the neck pickup I think it was soldiered to the tab on the selector switch and the insulated wire went landed on the frame of the selector switch (ground). When I select both pickups (Middle) I don’t seem to have any of the 60 cycle hum. Great mod platform just wish I knew where to get some different color pick guards that I don’t have to modify, any Ideas?
Absolutely hilarious to be trying to act all normal about the screaming microphonic pickups. Sure just stand twenty feet away from your amp if you want to use any amount of gain. Why not just be honest and say yeah it's a really cheap guitar and it sounds and plays like one? Seems like spending another $50-$100 on even the cheapest Squire might be a good advice to be offering rather than hoping that rather poor acting skills will allow you too rake it in on affiliate referrals. I used to think this channel was cool but after watching this I'm kind of questioning everything else I have seen here.

So will standard replacement pick ups for a Fender Tele fit this brand as well????
I have one of these. Yeah I have the random buzzing coming from the bridge. Other than that very playable. Nice guitar. Will be installing hot rail pickups on mine soon.

I did a gig last nigth with great guitar
I bought this guitar in July 2022 on a whim during Amazon Prime days. I paid $99.00 and got exactly what you received. New strings, adjusted the saddle height and intonation, and I am amazed and happy. Next up I think I 'll install a Tusq XL nut, maybe some locking tuners. This is a fun guitar for 72 year old that hasn't really played much for 30 years. Get one, grip it and rip it!
My friend, you forgot to remove the plastic protective film from the neck pickup…I can see it on there clearly. That affects tone muchly. That's why the neck pickup was too dark. I enjoy your videos by the way.
In other words, for the non-beginner it’s junk. And for the beginner, until a setup is done, it’s also junk.

Liking the bent vintage style saddles. Also, I quite like ceramic pickups! They're powerful and also induce less string pull since the magnet is underneath.

The video would be much better with some soloing, not just chording, on the bridge in clean tones, which is the Telecaster's forte.
Be skeptical of these (sponsored) videos. Cheap guitar "reviews" are the new gold rush for guitar YT. Have been for a while, actually. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the instruments. Do the math.
I once had a Fernandez telecaster that played better than any Fender I've picked up. Paid $300 for it. Lost it in a hurricane. Played a thousand shows with it though so it was worth it. The Donner looks a little cheaper, and the intonation seems lousy. Probably needs a good setup which would cost more than the guitar itself.
Did you happen to pull the bridge off and check to see if it was routed for a humbucker?

Noticed that you played through the demo and didn't peel the protective film off the neck pickup or did I miss something?
what do u think is better (money aside) fender squier affinity telecaster or this one? i can't decide which is better
WARNING before thinking about this model, know that mine had the connection holes between the body and the neck so UNLINED that the neck almost cracked at the 20th fret. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! (unfortunately I can't put here the photos or the link to my review on Amazon, look for it and you will see!)
Well, it’s definitely out of tune for whatever reason. Prolly needs a setup to fix the intonation. The strings are still stretching from being new, so that could be part of it.
Maybe some guitar lessons are needed and also some lessons on amp setting up..
FYI there is no such thing as perilla wood. Donner has it mislabeled in their literature. I followed up with them to see what the hell it actually is, and apparently the answer is purpleheart wood. It’s actually very decent, and compares favorably to other more common hardwood choices like rosewood and laurel. The skeleton of these things is really quite good, certainly better than something at this price point deserves to be, but the guts (pups and control electronics) are definitely budget.
