I played your version at a open mic in Northern California, I was playing a Mosrite through a Biyang tremolo pedal and Fender blues jr drenched in reverb, it went over well.

As an F grade guitarist from the baby boomer period, I thank you for your analysis. Ive always been intrigued by that part of the passage where he starts playing triplets (da, da, dum.. da da dum).
I first heard this song in 1968 (The Good, the Bad and the Badder????). At the time, I didnt realise that this song was from a spaghetti western filmed in 1966, when Clint Eastwood was financially struggling. This song was released in 1968 and had moderate single success. I think it was Hugo Montenegro's version. He was the person wrote the theme music for " I Dream of Jeannie".
