  • Incredibly clear teaching style – you make the complicated simple instead of the simple complicated like so many other teachers- thank you!

  • I've watched this tutorial 3 times, and can now understand what Daric's is conveying. Now, I'd practice and clean up my movement down and up the bass! Thanks!!

  • What a stupid thing to do Teach something that your not good at. Horrible teaching!

  • Unlike other You-Tube bass teachers. he doesn't speak down to the student and doesn't take every opportunity to show how good he is.

  • Thank you Daric, your teaching is concrete and your speaking is crystal clear for a non English native.
I am looking forward to solos over 251.

  • Watched a few 2-5-1 progression videos and this the first one that it actually clicked (I think LoL). Awesome job explaining it and walking us through.

  • I'm so noob but I havent understood the reason behind the type of chord. I mean, I know they are D, G and C, but why they are 7, min, maj isnt clear to me. Is the "standard" for a 2-5-1 progression or behind those types there are scales that I don't know (and who are in a Daric's video)? Sorry for my english too

  • Oh now I get it! Thanks watched some other 2 5 1 progression videos and your advice on going from scale, arpeggio to chord knowledge to understand 2 5 1 gave me the light bulb moment

  • Thanks Daric! Loved the lesson! Can you make a video with a backing track where you are actually implementing the chord changes?

  • Thank you Sir for the Great Lessons. What I have learned after a few years of playing is I DON'T KNOW IT ALL. Your Lessons are wonderful, Just What I needed. Thanks again.

  • If people would just learn music theory and realize there are 12 notes, not 7. This all falls apart when the guitarist is playing a Bb chord. Not to mention it interferes with transposing to 3rds and 5ths. Its just better to count numbers in Half Steps.

  • Every time I play chords on the bass our guitarist threatens to quit. I don't blame him.

  • Many, many thanks for this clip!
    The message arrived!
This unique combination of these three chords (playable in all keys) is played on a loop and you can practice fantastic solo and enjoy the harmonic sounds and even be a bit proud to re-smell the world of jazz. It's a long way from there, but the beginning is over! Thanks again for your clip series, there is one clip more interesting than the other …

  • So much knowledge crammed into one video .. the what , the why , then put in context .. throw in a few mistakes and how to fix them and a few ways to tweak what you have learnt .. and thats just the tip of the iceberg ! Of all the bass instructionals I have seen on youtube, this channel delivers the most comprehensive and comprehendable instruction .. nice work sir

  • Daric man can you do a walking bass line with the notes in sequence straight a head and please don't explain it just run the line

  • Hey, for the dm7 chord, why did you not play the 5th degree of A and just play the seventh like D F C?

  • Good stuff. I like to think of myself as an "intermediate" player, and this lesson is very apropos. Like a lot of bassists, I sorta understood the major point, which is: You have to know which notes sound good when played in succession or together. I've known for a while, more or less, which notes on the fret board will sound good when I play them. But I didn't understood the concept of using a Mode to help determine the specific sequence of notes and/or chord. I just learned what to play by trial and error with minimal understanding of the Theory behind it. Thanks
