  • Have you been to a trade show? what is your favourite thing about trade shows? Meeting up with your peers? Checking out gear? Let us know below

  • For context, I did a search for prices of KSD speakers, the cheapest I could find was 1.700 Euros and there were several models between 2.700 to 4.000 Euros, and then perhaps their highest offering at 12.000 Euros.

  • So, what's really pisses me off is that those speakers ARE CHEAPER in US than in EU! WTF!!!

  • I can't find info on the THD Meterbridge system online.. I have a 24ch 4K E Series SSL and i am very interested! Are they going to announce later ?

  • I don't get why you would put eq on the back of reference monitors. In the studio you want to be able to hear the mix as it actually is. If there is too much low end in a flat response speaker you should eq it down in the mix, not the speaker. Am I wrong?

  • equitech balanced power. Just FYI for anybody out there. you can DIY balanced 60v-60v power using transformers from your local electrical shop

  • Even though in Germany quite a few high end studios are kitted with KS Digital monitors, outside of Germany hardly anyone knows about them, they're completely under the radar, so I'm not surprised Warren has never ever heard one. Let's just say marketing was never KS Digital's forte 🙂 but it's a shame, because their old KS Digital A-200 mk1 was already the best small-ish 3 ways I've heard at the time. I compared it to my own KH310 and a HEDD Type 20mk1, an SCM 25 mk1, a LYD-48 and some older ADAM (I think it was a big S3X-H)…I preferred the A-200 over all of those, so I can only imagine how great these new mk2 models are. + Their Coaxial C8, C88 etc. models are also great. I hope Alex Oana and SoundVisionWorks will help KS Digital to get the attention they deserve because KS Digital monitors are phenomenal and very fairly priced + they look cool 🙂

  • I have no idea what I would do with that Wolfe mixer, but I'd love one in my studio just to look and drool at it!

  • This guy is not telling the truth. KSD was NOT the first company to implement DSP within their speaker.
It was Meyer Sound Laboratories that developed powered speakers which had DSP technology within their speaker system in 1991.
Meyer Sound Laboratories was developing powered speakers with integrated DSP in 1991, which predates KSD's 1996 first ever presentation.

  • I had a chance to listen to KS monitors back in 2019 c5 to be exact there was a room full of speakers different brands at Just Music Berlin to me C5 sounded best of all coaxial design its own stand and it looked great to , the most balanced of all only thing that was close to that was Swiss made PSI those sounded great but the price different was let's say pricier ???? , I wanted to get a pair but was not sure about the service parts etc it was a new brand to me .

  • This is just great Warren..! AES is my favorite holiday, but I focused so much on the people, seeing old friends etc, that I missed all the gear..! So nice to get an 'extra day' of AES in an hour..!

  • Wow! I like this venue for this, it's a bit better to hear in amongst everything else simultaneously going on in the same building.

  • Don't forget there are 8's and 10'd of the KS Digital coaxial speakers… there also a 3-way also of the coaxial range

  • the equitech stuff is an argument for using 240V split-phase straight from the power company in the US, not hacking up 120V balanced power. any gear that sounds different with balanced power has by definition a sub-par power supply. I get that there's engineering tradeoffs involved and not all gear has competent power supplies or can run on 240, but it still makes me shake my head and wince a little…

  • Sorry but sales people say what they need to say, actually ignoring what Warren is saying. ????

  • The Bronx Studio the EquiTech guy mentioned is PlugStudiosNYC and i can confirm everything recorded and mix in those rooms just sound clean!

  • Sorry Warren, I think it was me that brought up your awkward English man hug….
It will come in time, now that you have become really self concious about it.
    Bless you.
