Before I even clicked the video I said to myself, "Taylor 214 koa, hands down.’ I say this after playtesting a ton but not actually owning the 224. It’s my favorite guitar around $1000 but it inspired me to get a 700 koa.
It is a laminate back and sides, ("layered" in Taylor terms), with a solid top.
Sounds like a Taylor. Not for me
You didn't say whether it was solid wood or laminated that's very important in this price point. I just bought myself a Breedlove for 1,150 solid mahogany back and sides with a red cedar top I named her Eleanor it means light✝️????????
tone is so plain….. waht I plan in the future is to buy a yamaha with transacoustic PA, removed that PA and install to a Taylor.
I don’t think a sub $2,000 guitar is good for being beat up and abused man just sayin. And definitely not for beginners. This review is just weird.
I love your honest review… not trying to sell something. I have the 210e dlx sunburst and was thinking about buying one of these because of the beautiful top… but seeing your review and others I think I'll pass. Other reviews said this sounds muted compared to lets say the 214. I had a K22 at my house for a couple of months that was about $5k and all Koa… which also sounded muted…it must be the Koa wood that does that not sure…
I have the Taylor 214 ce koa dlx????
Just got my Taylor Koa. I liked your honest review. I've never heard one like that for this guitar, but was happy to hear the straight truth about the guitar. I'm going from a Taylor 410 and I notice the difference in this 224, but the look and feel of it make up that difference for me. ???? Thanks again for your honest review!
