  • I'm looking for a factory one off made by a Gibson employee. It passed around a few hands until I saw it for sale around 2010 at a twin cities trade show in Minnesota. It sold for around 12k and that's where I last heard and saw of it. I got to hold it and play a few chords with the current owner at the time before he sold it and yeah it had a nice slim 60s neck in a light burst slightly faded with a light flame top with nice checkering all over. If anyone ever sees it maybe it could be sent on here to be reviewed. I'd love to see that guitar again

  • Could pickup height pole pieces improve the coil splitting tone? Very thin and glassy, I have epiphone LP custom pro that on front pickup sound's odd

  • , I must comment, that within the last four to six to eight months you play the Les Paul???? that had the absolutely best tone of any that you've ever had on your platform,???????? does anybody remember it? It was one of his grubby your Les Paul's I remember that thing song and had tone

  • I have seen some phenomenal guitars at Summer NAMM in Nashville. I remember seeing a Les Paul that had an amazing looking dragon carved in RELIEF on the body. It was soooo cool. I have pictures of it somewhere and I’m thinking it was the 1991 Summer NAMM where I saw it.

  • Freakin' LOVE that deep mocha burst on the right side!! Would love it more with dark chocolate binding. ????
Instead of leaving a pick guard off get some clear plexiglass and cut one out of that.

  • Looks gorgeous but not very Les Paul like tone. As @Steve.Cutler says, horrible coil tap. The overdrive tone was quite funky, not a go to sound but would work great in a mix.

  • Somehow my comment about the recording at 05:34 in which I spoil the guitar he's talking about got deleted. Guess I need to stay quiet about it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • 1979- 82 was also when fender were experimenting with alternate woods, like walnut, on some models, and extended switching, often to make them more "Gibson" like. Gibson may have trying to compete to get thinner , more " Fender" or "Gretsch" tones

  • You should’ve tried playing with the volume knobs in addition to the tone knobs: sometimes that can tame the higher frequencies too.

  • I love the construction of this guitar. If it were mine, I'd find some vintage Bill Lawrence L-500's with the same coil split.
Hell, I'd pull them outta my Aria Violin bass! Put guitar pups into a hollow body bass. I get Fender, Rickenbacker, and Hofner sounds from it.
    Short scale, too!

  • WOAH!! A standard with all that! Amazing. Ohh, 1980! You could get amazing all over bursts, but, this has way more!

  • Gorgeous looking guitar, but sounds god awful in coil tap, are you sure everything is working correctly? Just can’t see it being designed to sound like that! Is got a thin nails down a blackboard sound

  • Most of us poors would be in awe of owning a single guitar in your collection. Do you have a favorite & least favorite?
