  • Amazing, just amazing. Took me right back to 1980 when I saw them for the first time in a tiny local venue. Unbelievable when you think of how massive they are now.

  • I think there's an amp now, that listens to a section of the song and produces the tone for you, a friend spoke about it to me, not sure if you've heard of it. I play Phantom of the Opera too, the tone of that is not so bad to reproduce, it's the real difficult stuff like that of Hallowed Be Thy Name that is so hard to copy.

  • I would never say the 1st album was the best..
But im perfectly fine with anybody that has that opinion.
To me the band exploded when Dickinson came in.
It wasnt just he was an immensely better singer, Bruce to me is the greatest frontman of all time.

  • Help me out here, if they had three pedals boosting before the amp, how did they not have unusable levels of noise without a noise gate?

  • I've got an Electra Omega LP. A very solid Axe. Got it for $125 30 years ago. I'll never sell it

  • I haven't really understood much about their early equipment, did both Murray and Strutton go straight in to their plexis? or did they use any sort of boost or overdrive pedal? as far as I read around the net Murray added the MRX Distortion + from the number of the beast on, so not sure if he was straight into his super lead or anything else in the first album.

  • 10:12 YOU´LL have a youtube copyright notification anyway , although the tone was different .Due in this case you kept it voice drums and bass ,so … it s what it is .

  • Thanks for the tip on the mic. I found one in the rubbish pile of old PA Equipment. Being what it makes it ideal for the back of a speaker with a 57 on the front.????????

  • Can I just put in a good word for Paul Dianno. There's a lot of bullshit about the guy. He lives near me and Ive gotten to know him over the years. I just want to say that I've always found him to be a bloody good bloke. He always has time for a chat with his fans and will buy you a pint. He loves chatting about his career and music in general. So I just wanted you all to know that he's a good guy don't believe the hype. BTw I've chatted with Steve Harris as well and he's good to meet as well, but he's not as personable as Dianno. I love the Iron Maiden story, going round the country in the green truck, there's a band that deserve their place in metal history. People go on about the jumbo jet etc. But my god have they worked for it. Respect to the irons. Of course Seventh Son is one of the greatest occult albums of all time, and as a whole one of the greatest concept albums of all time, that all and in spite of that strewn with mainstream pop hits, just amazing. Look up author Davy Lyons synopsis of the story behind the album, it's brilliant even if you totally get it already.
