Joyo DC-15S Practice Amplifier Deep Dive Walkthrough & Review

This is a review and demo of the Joyo DC-15S digital guitar amplifier. This is one of the best small practice amplifiers I have ever used. If you are looking for a great amplifier for home practice, or for jamming in a bedroom, the Joyo DC-15S is a great option. The Joyo DC-15S is loaded with fantastic features for jamming, looping, or switching tones on the fly!

  • Heya~ I'm Glad to have found this channel and I got my Joyo Dc15s Amp with the footswitch yesterday…but even after watching this vid, i'm unable to switch between presets…Lets say I want a clean/ acoustic tone in one preset and the metal tone as my normal /amp settings…I did save, i just cant figure out how to switch between both of them…Please Help 🙁

  • Just got it and I'm very happy. That wasn't a cheap amp but it truly delivers. Sounds are excellent compared to other little practice amps, a bit raspy during the first days but I think the speaker just needed to break in a bit. Having drums+looper is extremly fun. I got it to play at low volume during the night.

Now some negative points: the firmware is a bit buggy (sometimes tap button freezes, sometimes the rithm wheel freezes, sometimes the footswitch acts weird, sometimes the acoustic model makes a big scream noise, sometimes the volume goes down for no aparent reason, I wish you could monitor the battery level, I wish the looper were longer than 30 seconds). Hopefully their next version addresses that.

  • Last amp I bought was the Mustanng III v2. Man I love that amp, it really sings. Thank you so much for your reviews.
This Goyo also looks like a keeper with that looper feature.

  • Thanks for such a great demo! I enjoy all your stuff and have bought a few items after watching your videos, most notably the killer Artist Tweedtone 20R amp. I've had the DC-15S for a few weeks now and use it at rehearsals. I think it has a really good clean tone making it good pedal platform. The built-in overdrive and distortion tones are too shrill even with the tone control on the amp down to '0'. The demo model in this video actually sounds much better than mine to the naked ear.

  • Hi Shane. Would you recommend this one or Mooer Hornet?
Also, if used with software (Amplitube) through AUX in, does separate woofer and tweeter speakers make this a better option compared to others like Spark 40, Boss dual, etc, which have smaller speakers (usually two 4"). Thanks.

  • I just stumbled onto this as iam in the market for a good battery powered amp. I have actually never used a looper yet but was looking into it so this could definitely be a win.
    Thanks brother,love your vids✌️????????

  • i dont play any guitar but got this amp after listening to it comparing to other amps. main thing that draws me in was size…no buzz…and the different amp modes when the guy in the store demoed it. got it for my daughter and she loved it too. just dunno how to do the overdrive thing that a normal amp does.

  • Wow Thank You! I wanted to get one of these but didn't have enough info. Your video answered every question & then some! Also, your looping was really brilliant by the way…..

  • Great video, I really like the sound.of this little amp. My question is; because it has acoustic amp capabilities, is it 'safe' to use as a bass amp also? And if so.. what does it sound like?

  • Great review!! Nice playing. I camp for most the summer and my dream scenario is to be able to loop my acousic/electric without needing electricity. I know I’ll go through a lot of batteries, but still… so my question is, does the looper pedal require a power source, or is it also battery operated? This would be really helpful to know! Thanks!

  • Great review of an interesting little practice amp. The looper, footswitch, and BT capability call out to my wallet. My only concern here in the US is there are no reviews of this amp on Amazon. Is that because it's new here?

  • Great demo and review as always. This amp reminds me of the Vox DA5 amplifier kinda sorta. with a couple little twists. The Joyo DC-15S is rechargeable. The efx and drum machine are ok kinda but I prefer the efx and drum machine in pedals at my feet. It is a good sounding amp.

  • Thanks for the great review. I ended up getting this amp. Against practice amps from Spark, Boss, and Yamaha (I've had/have all three) – for the price, sound quality, and ease of use this Joyo is the best. The only thing I don't like is the "auto-off" feature. Especially since when you restart the amp you have to reset you delay and amp model – sort of a weird glitch in an otherwise perfect practice amp.
