My only issue would be that I can't activate the "dirt" via a foot switch. That lack of one is not an issue for home practice or even recording, but for live situations it could be a problem. I might have to use another drive, like the Packrat, for a gig.
Tim the only thing I need to know is when is that hair care routine vid gonna drop
Great review, thanks!
Is there a foot switch for the dirt? It’s always a pain when you need to bend down to switch. I use an HM-2 and an OC-3 which has another dirt mode which is pretty cool
A tuner pedal, the boss geb 7 (eq pedal) to have a boost for solo or a second channel and this multifunctional pedal can be enough.
This shines on certain basses with compressor around 11-noon and blend noonish. It’s an always on kind of setting that can really bring a jazz bass to life. I think just like in guitar….humbuckers compress more so on say a P bass….you will get a different experience than single coils on a jazz…..YMMV ….some active basses and high output. you don’t always want a compressor …so it’s all relative….
I do not understand how this is the only Pedal I need when I can not even change between clean and distorted via footswitch so I always have to switch dirt on and off by Hand. No problem in the studio but how about live Sessions? I do not get it
You need the correct size screwdriver bit!
I didn't hear any difference at all in the settings until the dirt switch was clicked on. Think I'll pass on this one. Not worth the money in my opinion. Might be open to a cheap clone though. Like real cheap. Lol.
I still wonder about compression because when it's used appropriately like you do here, it's almost undetectable. ????
If ur good and u know the true concept of bass then u really dont need all the extra bs,seriously maybe an envelope filter here and there nyt otherwise it's all just stuff to mask ur lack of skill as a "bassist " full stop,. Know ur theory and chord charts ,triads, etc and ur golden ????
Sounds good
You must be living under a rock if you think that this is the only pedal you need for Bass. You definitely need a Wawa feature.
I have a pulp n peel on my bass board followed by 3 other jhs pedals haunting minds, morning glory, and a lucky cat.
Why would they make it so hard to use the distortion circuit? I guess its not intended to be used live
Can this pedal operate on 48V phantom power from the DI?
What a review of the user manual… "It has this knob… check!"
Why are you doing a demo review of a bass, within 5 feet of your interface, while using a cheap wireless unit?
I got the pedal thanks to this video. It works great between guitar and bass. I did find with the dirt you can turn it down to where it's barely breaking it has a really cool blusy country twangy sound, only issue is that the low notes get fuzzy sounding.
I reallt like it though.
The only bass pedal i use is the tech 21 para driver straight into the p.a.
Great video man! What a cool useful pedal. There are so many awesome options out there now.
Wow, it has a DI built in! – seems to me they could follow SansAmps platform with a larger enclosure, makes room for more functionality – fuzz should be switchable, also making some of the other functions switchable. Still might add one of these to my board!
No pedal is needed on bass. Plug straight into the amp and let your fingers do the talking…
Due to my ignorance in matters of audio production, I couldn't hear the difference when you were playing with the compression. Of all the things you talked about, compression is what I understand the least.
I have the same pedal infront of a SansAmp 2112 and it sounds amazing for my ampless rig, as well as my Ampeg SVT. . I play a 1972 Fender Precision. This pedal is a must have.
Wanted to see if the dirt circuit is good,…can't tell when you have the dirt cranked full on.
I've been wanting one of these for a while. It would be perfect for small gigs so you can just bring your bass and a preamp and run right into the mixer.
I don't play bass, but okay.
I own one and I got rid of my mxr and boss compressor sustainer. It’s awesome on any bass I own . ❤great video ????????
The Rat aspect needs a footswitch
I suggest trying Tech 21 dUg Pinnick Signature DP-3X
It's hard to beat
Josh has never met a reason to not put a Rat in something.
The emperor has no clothes
My bass rig consists of an Electro-Harmonix Platform compressor pedal and a Radial JDI direct box. That's it.
Nice content on this channel.
It’d be more useful if the Rat circuit had a footswitch. Maybe that would require a larger enclosure, but it’d be worth it to be able to quickly flip it on and off in the middle of a song. Apart from that it looks like a great pedal.
Guess I'm a drummer that's been living under rock for 20+ years. I just started bass not long ago
Nice pedal, but amazing hair! (no homo)
Not a fan of fuzz bass. Looks like a good pedal but the Price Yike$ — I run a TC Electronics SpectraComp into a Joyo American Sound and straight into a power amp and that setup gives me all the flexibility I could ask for.
