This is the first time they ever performed this in concert (!)
You missed his long note at 1:53
It´s the 80´s. It´s the best Music. Now there is nothimg New.In the 80s you Hab Rock, Metal, Hip Hop and so on.Now it sounds all the same. I love Metal. But u Respcet Michal Jackson. Prince, Whitney Houston and so on too.
Either you've listened to nightwish cover? Or, as some other heretics have suggested, it's a game console tune. Lol.
papa Roach stole the riff off in their song last resort
They are a part of Guitar-hero, unless I'm mistaken!!
Off the scale brilliance…
Love this…."wow" is right. Venture into the Rock in Rio live shows if you can.
It should sound fermiliar to you, it's a freakin' classic.
"The Ancient Of Mariner" live is a masterpiece! It's worth seeing!
Maybe you're thinking of The Trooper (also by Iron Maiden). Those 2 riffs might sound similar to somene who "accidently" heard the song in the past.
A lot of their songs (guitar riffs) are on guitar hero that's probably why.
Today the force feed kids low-T rock and Rap.
I was 5 in 82, my cousin was older and he had me listening to this and AC/DC, it was exciting when it was new.
fuk yeah ! up the irons maiden back in the day boi
Papa Roach: Last Resort I thought always sounded like this song. You should check out Chelsea Wolfe, you look like a young CW,
"The Beast on the Road" tour – my first Maiden concert.
I went to high school in the 1980s. Always regretted not seeing them live back then. Early 80s was such a great time for this kind of metal (NWOBHM) with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, and Ozzy Osbourne. They were all in their prime.
RIP Clive Burr! , Gone But Never Forgotten!
The most brain dead reaction I think I've ever seen.
also, they sound just as good and just as tight now as they did when i saw the World Slavery Tour in the eighties…
their catalog is massive and very good, Wasted Years, Aces High, The Trooper, Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Steve Harris writes a lot of their songs and has a great knowledge of history and classic literature.
This show was the first with the new vocalist and was either just before or just after Number of the Beast was released.
They are worth a deep dive. if you want a power lesson watch Live After Death – it is the World Slavery Tour recorded in Long Beach, CA
The familiar riff prolly reminds you of that Papa Roach song.
I like your makeup. Nice job!
To Tame a land is another great one Nikki from Piece of Mind album! I here´s my suggestion ????
The drummer in this performance was Clive Burr, and Janick didn't join untill 1990's No Prayer For The Dying
Bruce might be a lot older than he was in 82 and yes his voice has suffered a little bit over the years but not to the point he cant hit or hold the notes. He can and does still do this live. Seen them three times in the 90's Love them to day I die. He also fought off cancer was a commercial pilot, world class fencer, author and all round decent guy.
If your wanting to add to the Maiden thing. Try Infinite dreams.
Up the Irons!
That riff is very similar the Papa Roach song 'Last Resort' I've always thought.
R.I.P. Clive Burr (Drums)
If you decide to become someone that does ASMR, you’ll crush it. Amazing ASMR voice.
You dont get the full effect of the vocals on a live performance. The studio version is where they go allout to get that perfect cut for the record, but on tour, you have to save your voice to make it through the whole tour. Therefore notes that are held far longer in the studio are cut short and the intensity is dialed back a little.
Maybe listen to the studio version after this for comparison.
My dad was their managers friend. he never told me or got me any tickets or anything tough.
Eagle Fly Free-Helloween will change your life.
It's not Nicko McBrain on drums, it's Clive Burr
I've. Been. " Listening" to the mighty Iron Maiden, since. 1983. Um. On this album the . Line -up. Was Bruce Dickinson ( his 1st, ) Creator. Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and one my fav's. Drummer Clive Burr ( his last) ….. Hello sweetie ????, I love your. Spirit, . We. Elders. Are looking forward to a new Generation. Of. True "MUSIC" fans to. This. Great. Music onto , otherwise, it. Would Lost to History !!!!
I kind of consider 1980s Maiden the first symphonic metal band, though I doubt they would label themselves as such. Their complex compositions and tempo shifts within songs were second to none. And Bruce could sing any musical genre, even opera, he was/is just that good. The male counterpart to Nightwish's Floor Jansen.
Killers Live Japan with Paul
Rip Paul di'anno
I was 14. Up The Irons m/
Cradle of filth and machine head covered this song. Both are good
Yep, same riff every song.
One of the best and most influential bands of all time; you'll love exploring their catalogue. I would bet that this feels familiar to you as Iron Maiden has influenced just about every metal band that came after them.
Maybe you hear on Guitar Hero
this is the song that stole the Guitar Riff from Iron Maidenhttps://youtu.be/j0lSpNtjPM8?si=jn1mSs3RUeUGXzJ6
notice how nobody in the crowd was holding up their phones like idiots.
