thank you for this series. I am looking forward to the next videos. I was wondering what your personal set up is (relief and action height)? Every fret buzz is energy and sustain loss, so what is your recommendation for a hard picking/hitting guitarist? And when is the point of diminishing returns reached? I heard that petrucci for example plays with an almost straight neck and has an action height of only 1mm @12th fret. SRV is the complete opposite with 2.8 mm.
I personally don't have much experience so I use the recommended numbers: relief 0.25mm, action height 2.0 mm for E and 1.6 mm for e.
Read about 1/2 of the comments and did not see this mentioned: Before checking the neck for straightness or bow, tune it to whatever pitch you play at first. Then make the measurements and adjustments. Recheck tune after adjustment. The purpose of the truss rod it to help the neck resist bending/bowing from the tension of the strings. An electronic tuner is best for this.
Also if the truss rod nut is difficult to turn, try putting a TINY drop of penetrant oil, such as Break Free, on the nut/rod threads. Most nuts are hollow all the way through so this can be done without taking it all apart.
Most people would consider the action on my guitars really high but i like it that way because of the dynamic range it gives me. Notes really pop when you want them to. And everything rings so pretty. I cant play very fast anyways even so i dont blame the action on that.
I tuned from standard to e flat and kept the 9-42s. Leveled also the floyd rose of my guitar.Do I still need to change the truss rod?
I guess "lefty-loosie" depends which angle you're looking hahhahahah.. I was wondering why the strings were getting closer to the freboard hahhahaha oops!
Wonder if you are going the ????wrong clockwise? Use a tuner, do a 1/⁴ turn and see if it goes sharp or flat. Flat is loosening, sharp is tightening.
Bought a knock off hollowbody in Nassau for vacation playing. It was in much need of lots of stuff… Including the bowed neck
If you have a lot of travel to make up… Do it over a few hours. Let the neck wood adjust to the New torque and then do another turn in 6 hours.. you'll get there if you don't force it (so my wife says).

Thanks for the lesson. My guitar has a spoke wheel truss rod, does the same rule of (righty tighty lefty loosy) work with the spoke wheel or its the opposite way,, if you can please help me

I just bought a brass abm bridge I’m have a problem switching the saddle how do I get the clip off do you already have a video pls respond
Im moving it clock wise but im afraid to overdo it and move it little by little but even like that its still has a curve, i want it to be in a straight line, also the strings have same height as prior to "adjustement"
