  • Nice groove, we will rumble you !. I can still feel the rumbling but it does Rock, great job Mark. 2:26 I like that, very Funky.
This is good stuff guys, spread the word around you are making me embarrassed because this is wanted you want to learn, they don't even know, glad I figured some out.
Glad Mark explained it, thanks. Anyone who thinks this is easy, let's go then let's hear it. What sounds different than yours ?. I hear rhythm in this song that does not even exist in Rock, just cause nobody knew how to make that rhythm. Mark helped me understand rhythms for Bass, now I work on rhythm about half the time I practice, just working on harder rhythms.
It gets harder, you get better the more rhythm you have and the limit is perfection. I see it as a whole dimension of Bass that is mostly overlooked by people with a poor musical understanding of rhythm.

I can hear the difference now so clearly. Seems also clear what they need to work on, your fretwork is too much for Bass now, work on rhythm. There's a limit to the fretwork you can even possibly put into it, with keeping good rhythm and backbone for a band and that is something I am consciously aware of.
These kids are actually fingertapping the bass, not going to be any rhythm in that, it's a lead thing, so don't do that if you can't yet hold rhythm on Bass. This is why Mark played with Prince, you think Prince was deaf ?. No, he had the musical ears of a champion. Anyone who would not enjoy the musical success you guys did must be I don't know, delirious. Once again, people leave us baffled with the decisions and choices, musically they all baffle me. It's like a bad sports team, very disorganized and 2nd base is wide open, we need a coach or we a new manager. We don't replace anyone but we can still pay attention to their influences.

I liked the Revolution since I was a kid, I was one of those little kids who would be dancing in crowds to you guys, also Michael and I all I remember is the dancing and experiencing music. But the kids get it more than adults, I think I can remember that it's very easy to understand. People need to go out and have fun, like we always did or we're not even having much fun out on weekends, not much like we did for the last…hundreds of years. The kids appreciate it, the ladies appreciated it and men, everyone liked the experience of being out having fun and that was big.
I have not heard much about live music shows in a long time. But this kind of thing just makes people happier in life, we always would say I am so happy we had music to see, or my life would be empty, a lot of it was just hanging around with people or working with people, why did we ever say that ?.

People need to have fun, and this is history men and women going out having fun with music and it's big, or…we die, we stop surviving as a species. Snap out of it and let's not die, Grandpa warned me not to be a dull loser, no matter what people said, take your lady dancing he said, I never got into it much but he is right, he was totally correct. Need to clean up our act before we can do that again, look at live music it's not the same at all and totall weird atmosphere, in the summer it was and I am just sick of it, I wouldn't bring a actual lady there in 1000 years, bad ideas all over. All you need is to look around, people look like Martians and it's not like even reality. At some point you would think someone would see how crazy it got, the atmosphere is so weird real music is no longer an option because people are like not even interested in music.

  • Thank you so much Dear Mark to share your unique bass skills and technique, such a blessing✨❤️???? I was 14 at the time watching the purple rain tour in 84 on my video tape, I've spent so much time tryin' to figure out what you where doing on baby I'm a star, when there's only bass and drums and sheila on timbalez hitin' the 2 and 4, the break before the end of the song, for a long time, when prince was doing his stuff entertaining the croud and the groove behing!!! Huuh the ultimate funk, I've burn my fingers so many times and the tape also hhh,, But it was until I saw your videos that almost 40 years later that I saw how you was doing it, like in this video, on the half beat after 2, the thum tchokocho????, you got that special gift which is unique to you, bass is about the touch, fingers not the instrument, and there will always be one Mark Brown one of the Greatest Bassplayer on the planet you're a Legend, once again thank you so so much for sharing, and I didn't mentionned your talent as a producer, Love you Bro, such a legacy for everyone of us, Bless you dear Mark, have a beautiful day❤️❤️❤️✨☺️????
