Fourteen years after their Grammy-winning debut, Raising Sand, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss followed up with Raise the Roof—which was nominated for three more Grammys. Now on tour, the duo also has a new band that includes bassist Viktor Krauss, guitarist JD McPherson, and utility player Stuart Duncan. But before they hit the road, Krause, Duncan, and McPherson—and their techs Paul Ackling and Kevin Devogel— invited the PG team to a rehearsal at Soundcheck Nashville for a look behind the gear curtain. Here’s a sampling of what our team of John Bohlinger, Chris Kies, and Perry Bean saw. Watch the Rundown for the whole picture.

I found JD a while back and his sound fits Robert and Alison perfectly.
Caught y'alls show last Friday and was mesmerized by that RA-200. Had never seen anything like it before. Holy crap that's a trip with headphones on.
The TK'd Vintera Tele is my favorite tone monster of all the amazing guitars in this rundown.
Wow, I know Stuart Duncan as one of the best fiddlers on the planet. What a depth of knowledge. Plant and Krauss are lucky to have him
Stuart can make my dremel tool sound friggin' melodic. ????????????
FYI, Indyguitarist is Brian Wampler before he started Wampler Pedals, when he was an active participant in DIY forums and sold collections of pedal mods.
Stuart is particularly amazing, especially across all of those instruments!
Wow!
That was so awesome! Love love love gear!!! Thank you so much!❤
Is there a link to the string butler he uses on the sg
Can anyone tell what brand of bender is on that tele? Thought I'd seen them all
Big fan of Alison Krauss so this is a cool insert to her live sound with Robert Plant touring band
Awesome find ????
Alison is my favorite fiddle player of all time. It's a shame she isn't playing much these days. Maybe she'll reunite with Union Station after the RPAK tour.
One question, whats plants body count ?
When the last guitarist said "I don't know what elephant I saved in a past life to get the support slot", what he meant to say was "I don't know what Masonic Lodge I attended to get this gig…"
JD!! And TK!! The Rocket Smith is soooo very bitchin' yes it is! And, think playing out at gigs with it ain't so bad ….. AND, love the 'Luck of the OKrish' tape id .. go Okeys!!
Stuart getting Jamie Foxx to sign the back of his 1930's Mandolin cause he had nothing else for him to autograph is giving me serious Step Brothers-vibes haha.
They never discussed (maybe they don’t know) the secret of the Galanti Grand Prix guitars.
They have a pickup signal reducer (when they were made it was marketed as a jazz guitar so the output was too hot on the pickups) that must be bypassed to unlock the True Tone of the guitar. It screams and has a growl like no other guitar. I bypassed on my guitar and have shown everyone else who has one and all swear by the mod.
How good was that !! OMG talent and humility = Excellence
Best rig Rundown for sounds….!!!!!
Wow!!! His rig is incredible
I LOVE IT!!! A smorgasbord of tone…all the stringed instruments and effect pedals. Robert Plant my all time favorite singer is why I had to check out this episode!!!
Cool band with great sounds. I love everything they do.
Whaow, whaow, whaow!!!
AWESOME, I WANT A HOODOO ????????????????????????????????????????
John s rig rundowns are the coolest funniest ones
Stuart Duncan is such a talented guy. Mark Knopfler had great things to say about him.
Mixed feelings when I look at my kickass pedalboard, and then Stuarts 'bare bones' board… and realise that I play to myself in a room, and he plays with the lead singer of Led Zeppelin to a crowd each night… Viktor's SG's look awesome too
???? Rundown. Top shelf musicians
couldn't put the man's name in title?
Again the weird laughter. What’s up with that laughing ????♀️
This is gold. Just loving it.
Wow looks like its also my first time seeing the Microcosm in a Rig Rundown musician feature.
Love how the focus is on getting the tones and not branding and gear. Get so sick and tired of seeing the same shyt every week. “Oh here’s my pedalboard of strymon pedals, boutique version of a fender amp and a tele” or “here’s my axe effects with my custom 5150 patch and a random two humbucker guitar”. These guys are great. Especially Stuart, “hey I found a squier with a nice neck pickup and hey who gives a shit it’s a squier so I’ll hack it up so itll do what I want.” He’s playing with Robert Plant and takes out a butchered squier and some garage sale acoustic instruments ????
I could listen to this clip over and over again. Magical
