In this video/vlog hang/jam session, I give you a quick rundown of my current favorite guitar pedals to implement with my Elektron Digitakt & Digitone rig. I’m hoping to get back into sampling my guitar for beats, and also to start writing more guitar passages as accompaniment to my Elektron compositions. So, here’s a quick rundown of the rig for you! Many thanks again to DistroKid for sponsoring this video.

  • Forgot to mention: I have my guitar rig running into the Neunaber Iconoclast speaker emulator (slyly hidden on top of a box under my desk), then into the 1010 Bluebox to mix with the signal from the Elektron setup. Yes, it’s an amp-less setup and IMO it sounds pretty decent!

  • I think that video should have been sponsored by Chase Bliss instead of Distrokid. Nice pedalboard, that last pedal looks crazy fun! Yes to more Slow Haste guitarness!

  • Is this your first sponsored video!? If so congrats! You handled it all really well! It didn't seem like it overtook the whole video and the video didn't feel like it suffered from the sponsorship, great implementation!

Also I bought my digitakt today! So hyped to get it so I can pair it with some pedals! I had my eye on the dark sky and warped vinyl already. I'm curious though, how do you go about knowing if a pedal will fit x piece of gear or not. Like ive heard that people love putting drums through ring mod and stuff, is it just buy it and try it or do you have some secret?

Thanks for all the videos! They've been such a comfortable place to relax for me these last few months. So glad to see the channel growing well too!

  • I love the meris! It’s such a good sounding pedal which is pretty versatile!

Can you run pedals directly into digitakt to record samples? Do you get enough output?

I use an amp less setup for my guitars running everything through a strymon iridium at the end of the chain, sounds great!

  • Nice topic! I'm a huge pedal nerd in a larval stage. It's my new eurorack-alternative. 🙂

  • Yes to more guitar in your videos!!! I’d love to see those pedals running on and off through tracks on your digitone or digitakt!!! One of my fave video of yours is the one you talk about your fav pedals

  • I got my OP-1 as my sole 'all in one synth' and had ideas about recording into it with guitar and other instruments. I've struggled a bit with that though so I'd be really interested to see if you can demonstrate a Guitar -> OP-1 workflow that works for you.

  • My poor man's pedal board is a Zoom MS-50g multi-effect pedal which digitally emulates a lot of classic effect pedals. It has is a well established community of users sharing various patches they've created. It's an astonishingly versatile device that's going to keep me occupied for a good while yet. There is a stereo input CDR version I that adds more chorus delay and reverb, instead of guitar oriented distortion and amp sims. I've seen them both used with synths.

  • Got a dark star in yesterday, you can use it to emulate Disintegration Loops style degradation… it’s great

  • My pedalboard is my wireless receiver, a shitty $20 tuner, my HX Stomp and a cheap expression pedal, that's my entire rig and it's incredibly versatile! Makes setup at a gig super fast, as I do play guitar in a band and just do the synth stuff on my own.

I do, however, also build and design my own analog pedals with my dad so I've got stacks upon stacks of prototypes cluttering up my studio. Should really put together a separate pedalboard for my synths with those.

Great demos as always, pal! Your tone sounds COMPLETELY different from what I usually play and I adore it. So lush and beautiful!
