I do believe I see a mic on the Bassman (Frank McComb), it’s behind Larry’s right leg, you can see it when the camera pans from the far left. Love my OE Black Panel!!
I gigged out with my b15 a lot. It definitely can’t stand by itself volume wise in a full band situation but it has a preamp out to go to front of house. That said it was great without pa help in an acoustic duo situation. Especially if you aren’t looking for pristine clean bass sounds. The b15 sustain and overdrive sounds great and is always fun to play imho. Even though I ended up retiring it and going to with an Eden for weight, reliability, and better/separate control of my volume to FoH.
Fun fact, nicotine was the main ingredient of the stain applied to the tolex in the Fender factory, and it was specifically formulated to age in the blues clubs of the time… pass it on!
What about Quilter's new Bass Block V803, Ashen amps, Schroeder cabs and new JR1000 amp, and Accugroove cabs and amps?
Ports guys, the "vents" are called ports… ;^p
I've been rocking a Traynor Small Block head and whatever cab I'm feeling at the moment. I absolutely love this amp. Very little, if any, baked in tone. It lets the tone of your bass and whatever you have between your bass and amp to really shine. It's small, lightweight and powerful.
I have an Ampeg PF-20T through a 15" EV speaker. Just play an Fender Precision with flat wound string and EMG pickups. Very much the equal of the classic B15 and Precision.

Did they really just left a fart in the audio track?!????
Genzler Kinetix 800 has been a game changer for me ????
JHS Punchline
GAS happening here. Surely its crazy to spend a ton on an amp and then buy a bass pre amp. Dont get it. Great chat cheers.
ian wich one do u prefer of Aguilar Amps? tone hammer 500 or AG 500? greetings pal
There was a 60’s B-15 at Atomic Music (in MD) that crackled when it went past 5… when the money sound is in the lower volumes. It sold for $1.5k and even though I don’t have a lot of money, I’m kicking myself for not grabbing it.
I’ve built a powered 12 coaxial. It should be on the list. It’ll make the 2025 list.
51:04 looks like there is a mic on the Bassman cabinet.
Do y'all know if the Jad Freer amp has a power-amp kill switch so you can run as a DI without cab load plugged in?
I've owned three b-15's (63, 68, and 76) and the mid-70's one was my favorite by a mile, especially in studio.
I'm 71 coil cables blow
I have a GK which is pretty good but my best sounding is a Avatar 2×10 with a Little Mark 800. With my 59 P bass it kills.
Markbass will probably have good deals on Black Friday
Mesa makes some great sounding heads too
I have made an effort to watch as many of your videos as I can, since I’ve been laid up with a broken ankle since July. I love all the videos. However…”I could lick a tweed amp” was the funniest thing I’ve heard so far. Hilarious! Also former smoker…who loved every minute of it as well. Thanks for the laughs! ????????
2 GK 1001RB heads clean and dirty into MESA powerhouse 212 (dirt) and 410 (clean) cabs. Justin Chancellor has done the work for us!
We all love the B15, but how do folks feel about the modern PF-50t?
I have a Traynor 2×10 cab and their 500 amp class D head. Epic tone!
I luv and look forward to all your “geekn out” videos!
weather it’s an artist, a Killa bass or a monster bass player like Stuart Zander,
Your luv for the entire Bass Community is infectious!!!
????????????????????????????????Thk u!
Ian's Barbie Bass is so urghhh.
I feel like videos like this would be much more entertaining if you included demos for each of the amps
I'm probably not the first to ask you why you wear gloves on your left hand. Don't feel obliged to answer, just curious. I like your videos and I learn a lot. A hug from Uruguay.
