  • The Epiphone Les Paul 1959 is $1300 but a Gibson Les Paul Studio is $1600, and you can find plenty of used Gibson Les Paul Studios and Tributes in the $900-$1300 range. The Epiphone Les Paul 1959 makes zero sense to me. The reason you buy it is for an affordable version of the real thing AKA a Gibson but you can have a Gibson Les Paul for a couple hundred more new, or less money used in great shape. Why would anyone buy the Epiphone? A $600 Epiphone makes perfect sense. A $1300 Epiphone made in China makes zero sense.

  • To me, when someone wants Gibson sound and feel, sonce 2020, Epiphones are the best choice.
They are great Gibson inspired guitars like ESP Eclipses, Maybachs, The Heritage and what not, but to me, they dont feel and soun as close to Gibsons as Epiphones do.

Not like they are bad guitars or anything, but they do their own thing.

  • Kasleder rulez! I’ve just merged my bass and guitar fx boards into one compact pedalboard. All dirt-pedals are Kasleders. The Albatros Fuzz sounds great with guitar and bass, the Jellyfish is a very versatile bass overdrive, which can also do Ampeg like sounds. The Toxic Twin covers all overdrive sounds I need for guitar, with lots of character and dynamics. Love those pedals!

  • My fav gear from this year: Sire Larry Carlton S5 and the JHS Flight Delay (I wasn’t in the market for an amp this year, but if I had unlimited funds… probably that Jack White Fender amp.)
