  • Is this the new V bracing 714? I've always kind of liked their X bracing. How do you compare the two? I personally like the 714 better than the 814.

  • ive got a sunburst one and its definitely not worth £2500,the top is bowed at the bridge, the neck heel looks like it was shaped with a hacksaw on one side, the body has been over routed at the neck and filled with caulk and there is fret buzz at the 12th and thats with the action at about 6mm,if i so much as drop a pick on the top it get dented and the sound system is awful, the guitar gets dreadful feedback if the volume is on any more than half and the overall sound is thin and brittle and if you so much as lightly touch the bridge pins you get a loud rasping sound from the amp,if i hadn't of bought it(half price as an ex demo)from a very reputable uk dealer i would have said it was a cheap chinese copy, should've bought a martin!

  • Thank you so much for your extensive review of this guitar. I feel like alot of people who review guitars just play a G,A and D chord and then say "alrighty make sure to check it out!" and we are left to wonder what the instrument can really sound like…So again! thank you very much I really appreciate it

  • There goes that thin, tinny sound I hear from so many Taylor guitars. Nice guitar but where's the bass? I hope what I'm hearing (or not hearing) is due to the low-fi sound quality on YT!

  • Hi there,

Thank you for all your reviews! I absolutely love your beautiful version of the Star Spangled Banner. Do you have tabs for it?? Also, I'm curious how do you think the sound of the 714 compares to the new 814?? I'm trying to decide between the two.

  • Please tell me what is that piece he has attached to the bottom of the guitar?  I've used a number of things to keep my guitar from sliding forward but what he has there I think does more than that and I'd like to try it out.

  • I like the ES system .. but I mainly play music that the sound is appreciated in. It depends what you like to do– there are tutorials for removing the ES system.

  • A cedar top is available as an option ($100) on Taylor guitars from the 500 series and up. The one in the video is gone but we've got a Mahogany/Cedar Top Grand Symphony in stock for $2400. It's old designation was GS5e (Grand Symphony/500 series/with pickup) New designation would call it a 516e.
Thanks for your comment. All the best! – Diego

  • Hi thanks for your inquiry. It's a Neumann TLM 103. Great mic for the price. Saludos – Diego

  • Just Beautiful, the guitar, the leg support and the playing. Just WoW. I was thinking about getting this. But the new one has an option for a cedar top. I'm not convinced with the Engelmann Spruce. I would love your opinion on it.
I love the 7's the best in the Taylor range. Everything else sounds metallic. Probably it's to cut through the mix when playing in a band.

  • Thanks so much! I made the 1st one in 1998. 15 years and 20 000 hours of use has given me some insight from a player's perspective. I'm so happy you find it practical and useful. All the best – Diego

  • I have this guitar and love everything about it other than the ES system. The guitar sounds great miked out, but the expression system is terrible. This is the third Taylor I have purchased thinking it was the one woods that I was not satisfied in, but it is the ES system. Sounds like an electric guitar. In my search on the internet I am finding several comments on the dislike of the ES system, but Taylor does not seem to care

  • Hi, thanks for your inquiry. It's called 'In Christ Alone.' I was looking for something in drop-D which would let the open strings ring to really hear the depth of tone from the cedar. It was also good pairing with the feel and meaning of 'Amazing Grace.'

  • What is it that you are playing in the title sequence and at 7:18 right before amazing grace?
