Joyo MA10B review comparison with the Blackstar Fly 3 Mini Compact Amp

The first minute of this video is a reference for your ears to adjust to a full range bass guitar amp (the Ibanez 10VB2) before comparing that to the Joyo MA10B travel bass guitar amp and the Blackstar Fly 3 Mini Compact bass amp.

Prices seem to be fluctuating for the generic OEM-ish Joyo MA10B but when I got mine it was $45USD. The price has gone up and because it is generic, I have seen it with a different brand.

The Blackstar bass amp is a trusted brand and I really like it but when I take it for a home jam it doesn’t work well with other mid frequency guitars as well as the Joyo which has good low frequency representation.

I am using a Korean 5-string Cort bass guitar as well so that we can test the sound of the low end B string.

The bass guitar is recorded with the on-screen H1N stereo mic, the dialogue with a clip on Rode wireless mic, I am toggling between the two in the edit.

  • Sorry, but the Blackstarr is weak by comparison. The solid sound of the Joyo blows the ???? out of the weak Blackstar. But if you're enamored with the BS Blackstar, waste your money as you will.

  • Thank you for the excellent demonstration.
The Blackstar has amazing sound quality. The Joyo is very good value for money. Both will enable an electric bass to play along with acoustic instruments.
I have been wondering which to buy for an electro-acoustic guitar for almost-acoustic sessions.
