  • Not being able to actually program synths on Maschine plus is really a major disappointment for me…I have zero interest or need for presets…When I bought it and read that it ran massive and Reaktor I thought I was set but all you can do is tweak presets it’s absolutely useless as anything more than a drum machine/sampler…The poly synth/bass synth and monark are fine for simple sounds but it’s not enough for modern day production.

  • Love the sounds, but the complexity of the MK3 unit is frustrating. Owned 2 years, and after hours of programming and watching your videos, I still struggle to integrate my MK3 into my DAW. I feel I’m constantly doing more setup than production. Even in your video, you repeat…”not that bad…”. Well, frankly it is that bad. NI has made some amazing software that should be much better and they have had years to improve DAW integration, but they just continue to add great content without making the actual use of that content better. I should be able to load a song kit and play it into my DAW just like my synths and it should record…instead again I’m losing time setting up and failing at integration.

  • Hey Jeff – thanks for the video. I’ve been with Maschine from MK2 then MK3 and then M+ which I thought I hoped to gig with. As much as I like M+ I sold it and went back to MK3 and a laptop as more powerful / flexible.
I like the Maschine environment but M+ needs to do more for its price – I would say the same for Push too.
BUT … considering what is available for making music these days we should not complain, we have great tools now at different prices. none perfect but all great – anyone complaining should think again

  • If Ni put a bigger cpu in this device to handle all NI software even if you had to use some type of file system with a limit and could pick and choose what you put on there, ability to make custom chord sets, and for the love of God full daw plugin integration, i would not have bought push 3 and would have upgraded to m-plus from mk3.

  • I'm not the biggest grove box guy to begin with.
they tend to be limiting. Avid used would say that's the allure. Limitation makes you more creative.
The price to me for the things that it lacks, is s deal breaker for me.
I have the Maschine Mikro MK3 and the Maschine MK2. They work for me because I got them both for under 225 used, because I play only at home/studio.
with my tiny computer running on battery or laptop I can have the same setup…minus the 900+ price tag.
    Real talk Jeff, 900 and I can't do everything….
No phantom Power? How does and engineer put in a mic port with no phantom power?

  • I almost purchased the machine standalone. But I saw that it still requires a power source. If they made it completely standalone, I would consider the purchase

  • I've got this annoying issue with my M+, even after a full factory reset – shift+transport to scrub through a track just stops working randomly, pressing VOL/SWING/TEMPO resets it, but it's pretty irritating!

    Am I alone in this?

  • Interesting. You usually state you're not getting paid for the review, but didn't this time. Then you went on to say how good it was even after previously saying Maschine 3 was disappointing.

    Hmmmm

  • Hey Jeff Great Vids buddy… interesting to hear about the comment you made about the Mic and how you would like phantom power, in Studio. Use a condenser into an interface then send the output to Maschine and put XLR /Jack adaptor into mic input. Works amazingly good. ????

  • Is Maschine 3 software now compatible with Maschine+ ? I thought it is not. The new midi editing tools are now accessible via the controller? That would be awesome.

  • You are the best, Jef! I have completely neglected my Maschine + and with watching this video you once again inspired me to delve on into the architecture ????

  • Still patiently waiting for that long promised M+ update… That Ableton Push 3 is becoming more tempting by the day, but I do still love my M+.
Your videos got me off the ground entering the NI ecosystem, and I'm still greatly appreciative for that.

  • Your videos have taught me a lot about how to make best use of my Maschine Mk3, and yes, the Maschine+ is still a great device. It’s also competitively priced these days. But because I really need audio tracks that are easy to use in standalone, and having seen the recent MPC 3.0 beta and its arrangement functionality, I just ordered an MPC key 37. So I guess I am going to the Dark SIde ????.
I haven’t totally abandoned Maschine, but NI needs to convince me it still believes in the platform. The downgraded Maschine functionality in the new keyboards sends a worrying signal.

  • I only use the + in controller mode because its so much better with the software and large monitor. That being said, i do try to use the screens as much as possible – i see it as a hybrid between hardware and software. Which i really love. I also like the better build of the + ????

  • Your videos on the Maschine+ have been, and continue to be, so helpful . Glad to see you are able to kick back and have fun with it again. No standalone device is without it's shortcomings but for my workflow and needs the + is pretty dang good. It's not the box's fault NI is a little irritating, lol.

  • I feel like NI is bound to come out with a DAW at some point, especially being part of Soundwide now

  • You are so right, Jef! Maschine is still powerful and fun, despite the complaint’s. I bought one used 3 years ago, and I’m still learning new techniques every time I use it. Great video!
