Settings demo of the Empress Effects Heavy distortion pedal, focusing on high-gain settings and metal riffing.

For this demo I used my Mesa Rectifier Rectoverb combo amp going through a Hughes & Kettner DI box and straight into my recording software. The Empress Heavy is a smooth, modern-sounding high gain distortion pedal with a ton of shaping options.

It’s easily one of our favorite distortion pedals.
