Did you room mic this entire video ? I don't see a mic by any of the amps.
Orange Crush Series and Micro Dark are criminally missing from this list…
I guess Line 6 Spider is still hated.
????
Line 6 Catalyst Cx is a monster
???? to nick for playing " beyond the realms of death" !
I have a Katana MK1 100 and the Positive Grid Spark. I love the Katana Sound, but i wish the App would be designed like the Spark App. Its the one reason why i play more on the Spark, because its so easy to get different sounds.
But nevertheless, both are great products, and you cant go wrong with both.
People sleep on the fact that the mustang micro also doubles as an audio interface. You can usb C connect it to a computer and record directly from it and even set it to DI setting to use plugins on your computer. So it’s a headphone amp and an audio interface, and could also be used live through a speaker, for like 100 bucks, cmon.
Tonex pedal and 3" studio monitors.
I, myself, have A Fender Mustang LT25 Amp
H&K TriAmp. ????
I have the catalyst 100. It's incredible. For my effects I use a boss me 90 (don't use the boss's amp modeling. ) also use a crybaby jr because I like the tone better but also frees up the expression pedal on the me90 to control Leslie speed.
Got a little Boss Dual Cube as a Marshall DSL-1, both nice little amps. The Boss sound pretty big over line outs into mixer/monitors.
The Fender LT 25 seems also a nice "all in one" amp at an unbelievable price.
I have the BlackStar Debut 50R and it is a phenomenal pedal platform. The old school Mosfet technology that BlackStar has tailered to get a tube like sound and feel works great..much better than a Katana! Highly recommended!
No Orange?
Those new HiWatt solid state amps look and sound great and the 50 watt version is about 100 dollars less than a katana, it doesn’t have any effects or digital modeling just good old fashioned SS analog. It’s the HiWatt Leeds series 50 watts is more than any beginner would need but most beginners want something to be able to play with a drummer and I think a 50 watt SS simple two channel amp would eliminate the options paralysis all the new “beginner “ amps have. If I’d had a katana starting out I probably would’ve never learned to play just messed with making different noises and patches .
At some point, they're going to have modelers built into the mixing board. Just show up with a guitar or bass and your pedalboard. "65 Blackface Fender through a 4×10 Jensen cab, please."
Trying to bill the Roland cube street ex, as more robust than a Katana is ridiculous. How is the Boss Katana 212 not "robust" enough for you? Sales pitches are lame. Theyre both Roland products.
I just got the Katana 100 1X12 Gen 3. An amazing amp!
Been playing 37 yrs and love the katana series!
4 words: blackstar HT club 40 watt
Mustang LT50 ????
Everything is pretty much gig worthy if you can mic it up. The combos on their own with a drummer. No way. Unless it’s a 2/12. Something in that ball park.
Bahahahaha!!! NEVER heard a Champion II sound that darn good!! Might need to get a whole back line of them ????????????
Fender Mustang is the best for beginners imo. It not only sounds shockingly good, but its very easy to use. The Boss Katana on the other hand, it is significantly better imo, but it is NOT user friendly at all. I cannot imagine a true beginner doing very well trying to figure it out. Ive played for 25+ years and i got a Boss Katana mk2 and it took very real effort to figure it out. I will say that it was well worth the effort though. Of all the "modeling" amps ive ever used, the Boss Katana MK2 is the most impressive one in terms of getting a high quality tube mimicking tone.
Katana has been amazing for years. All sizes, completely giggable, and super affordable.
