Gear News: D’Addario Unveils XPND Pedal Power Battery Kit & New Pedalboard Power Solutions
When Leo Fender brought the ASAT body shape to bass in the late ’80s, the result was an instrument unlike anything else—a bold, head-turning design paired with the power and versatility of the G&L L•2000. Now, this classic has found its place in the Fullerton Deluxe line, cementing its legacy as one of the coolest basses to come from Leo’s legendary mind.
At its core, the ASAT Bass is all about versatility. A pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers deliver a huge tonal palette, controlled by Leo Fender’s Tri-Tone system. With toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel routing, and active/passive operation, plus knobs for volume, treble, and bass, ASAT Bass adapts effortlessly to any style—be it soulful R&B, aggressive rock, or funky grooves.
Leo’s Saddle-Lock bridge anchors the ASAT Bass, transferring string energy into the body end-grain for maximum resonance and sustain. A C-shaped neck with a 9 1/2″ radius and 21 medium-jumbo Jescar frets rounds out the package, offering effortless playability and smooth handling.
Now part of the Fullerton Deluxe lineup, the ASAT Bass is available in three finishes:
- Butterscotch Blonde over Swamp Ash, with maple fingerboard
- Jet Black over Alder, with rosewood fingerboard
- Alpine White Frost over Alder, with rosewood fingerboard
Built at the historic G&L factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California—the Birthplace of Bolt-on—the Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Bass carries forward Leo Fender’s legacy of innovation and style. Whether you’re drawn to its unique look or its endless tonal possibilities, the ASAT Bass has a voice that demands to be heard.
