  • You are correct about acoustic. I have a $hiity Ibanez $300 acoustic that I tried to destroy for years. Anyways after playing mostly electric I came to a point in my life where I would mostly play that crappy acoustic because it was just easy to pick up and play. I had it set to my exact specifications so it played like butter. Long story short after 7 yrs of playing that crappy acoustic I decided to spoil myself and I bought a Taylor. WOW JUST WOW. Haven’t been this happy in years !

  • I found a D'armond SG copy at a pawn shop for $10. Cleaned it up, slapped some Seymour Duncans and Elixers on it and played it on stage for years, even got some killer recordings off that thing. ????

  • I have a few expensive basses and guitars now that I’m older, but spent the first 15-20 years of my life playing/making music with cheap budget gear. I was pooooooooor growing up. I had mostly bottom of the barrel stuff, but it was just fine to learn on.

Dont worry about expensive gear. Plus, these days, a lot of “budget” instruments are pretty good bangs for the buck. Much better than the stuff at the same price point when I was starting out.

Now that I have my “nice” and expensive instruments, I’m going to start collecting cheap Glarry basses for my collection. I simply like instruments, specifically bass, but I own guitars as I started playing guitar before bass. I’ll probably get some Harley Bentons on the lower end. I’m not breaking the bank.

Got my high end Ibanez bass and high end Schecter because I simply wanted them. I didn’t need em.

Nothing wrong with budget gear. You can always upgrade/mod cheap instruments too.

  • Just buy a decent level guitar from Squier or Epiphone and upgrade parts/wiring on it. Also sand the neck a bit to get rid of gloss

  • If u can't afford an expensive guitar, you don't deserve to play guitar ????

  • Acoustics can be expensive because its an art form, and even companies like Martin use a LOT of human labor.
There is absolutely no reason for an electric guitar to cost more than 700 dollars, and that is pushing it.

  • DUDE… I’ve been trying to look for that kind of Les Paul FOREVER. What’s the model and where did you get it?

  • I thought playing the Irsay collection would be Heaven but a session player who did said they aren't set up well
