  • I love you guys but calling Richard Fortus a rhythm guitar player is wild hahaha. He simply plays that role in guns and roses but Richard Fortus is one of the best guitar players alive. (Also I'm fully aware you guys know this. Its more for the general audience)

  • The Black Panther is the 335 Killer. I first saw my fellow Chicago guitarist Isaiah Sharkey playing one on D'angelo Voodoo Tour in 2015. I asked him about it, he gave me all the info on it. I bought it immediately. Its funky, jazz, and gospel and pop all in one axe. The percussive element of the pickups are phenomenal. I took on Steve Arrington Tour/studio and church for years. I love the 5230T as well. Needs pro upgrades to make it ready. Locking tuners, Volume pot, roller Bridge, pro selector, and carbon fiber nut.

  • I asked my wife for olive green g5220 for Christmas. We will see if I’ve been good enough. My main is a USA tele with HB at the neck. The gretch seemed like a perfect counter point

  • what's that black band thing that was wrapped around the nut on chris rocha's guitars? is it some kind of capo? i thought it was muting the guitar but he even played with it on the second fret….?

  • Gretsch has always been my go to sound wise. If I could choose only one guitar it would be my 6120.

  • i have a Gretsch 5122 and I am looking to upgrade my pick ups. what, in your opinion, are the best pick ups to install? i am leaning towards the TV Jones classics, but i would like more insight from other gretsch players. Also, i have a 5420 with Filtertrons and i love it.

  • IF JESUS HAD $5000.00 FOR A GUITAR RIG, HE'D BUY A DECENT USED BANGED UP TAYLOR 114 AND SPEND THE REST ON OTHERS. YOU ARE HYPOCRITE *SCUM*.

  • I'm here for the guitars! That Gold Sparkle Jet finish is glorious (almost a Black Hole Sun axe) and I'm seriously interested in one of those Black Falcons! My Soundgarden-inspired GT6129T-89 Silver Jet needs a stable mate!

  • Gretsch guitars look cool but I like the sound and playability of D'Angelico WAY BETTER. I'm not a fan of the Gretsch pickups…

  • Also I wonder if I lay down decent money for a Gretsch and have somebody set it up will that solve the problem of staying in tune ?….. seriously I would trade most of everything I got for one good grass Gretch but I can't find one

  • My neighbor a guitar instructor with the original country gentlemen his guitar used to stay in tune , but I cannot find a Gretsch guitar anywhere that stays in tune. The stores tell me if I want a guitar that stays in tune need to be prepared to pay 2 – 3 -4- $10,000

  • so much effects.. hard to appretiate the pure tone of it. Love my Gretsch guitar. Cheers

  • Given that both guitars have the same pickups, can you make the Black Falcon sound like the Sparkle Jet? In the video, the Falcon is more distorted/has more gain, but that must be a setting, right? Was hoping for a bit more clean tones from the Falcon. As it stands the Sparkle Jet sounds better, but I’m having trouble believing that ????

  • why I love Gretschs? they just look the coolest esp the Sparkle Jets. The clean tone is amazing but, the filtertrons w/a little bit of drive is one of my all time favorites. so damn good

  • Great video. Great sounds. Thanks for the timestamps. Gretsch makes incredible guitars. Glad you addressed the Bigsby tips.

  • I had a Gretsch G6128T-TVP with TV Jones p/u's. Last week, it fell out of the guitar stand and face-planted on the floor which broke the headstock. I've have been told that it will be difficult to repair! I am soooo gutted!

  • I want a Gretsch however while watching this video, I was browsing Gretsch on Sweetwater. The low end id $900, Then they jump to $2500 and up. Hum…. Some of us can't do $3600 over 6 months. Gretsch doesn't offer anything over 6 month payment plan, at least not through Sweetwater. I'm guessing the guitar on the right is at least $3500.
It's not my intention to be down playing Gretsch. I'd buy one now if they had extending terms with Sweetwater.

  • I can't believe I just found you guys. I was a worship pastor
For close to 40 years. I played every kind of guitar imaginable. I didn't know gretsch had gotten so popular in worship. I have independently discovered the unbeatable tonality of Gretsch just recently. Going to pick up a G2627t next week.

  • I have a Gretsch 5420T, about $800, and have used it at times, on our WT. Hard to justify a $3500-4000 Falcon made outside the US. My first EG a VERY LONG time ago—haha, was a Countryr Gentleman, and wish I still had it, like alot of other Gtrs I don't have anymore! I had two Fender Tele's, one a Hybrid with 3 pickups and a 5-way switch to emulate a Strat on 2 of the settings. Have an EPI Les Paul Custom but think the pickups are just too hot for worship music, more so for my church, as I also never use heavy distortion or fuzz. My MAIN WT Gtr is a PRS SE Custom 24, as it's to me, the best overall EG at church also because of its Push-Pull tone knob, for single coil or Humbucker. Use single coil mostly and use the "down position" for HB just to get a slight boost of a couple DB for riff parts, etc. On your comment on the Gretsch Electromatic, like my 5420T, I agree it's like an acoustic, electrified. SO, maybe at times, I'll bring it along and use it on some of the more subtle songs we do, like some Hymns, as I also fingerpick. I also use a POD GO. I also think your USE of a HELIX in this video sorta distorts the "natural sound" of the Gtrs you sampled, plus you didn't seem to cover any pricing, although I didn't watch the video to the end. THANKS!

• You forgot to mention that because the players edition has the bridge right on the body, the strings and the neck is closer to the body, making the playing experience different. I always found the vintage one a bit more work to play because with the floating bridge you get a floating neck that’s higher off the body and it’s just a bit more work on the playing experience for both the left hand and the right hand.
