Imagine if this gets pinned????
Total cheat! One clip you picked beside the bridge and tge other a few inches west!
Prefer 1st, 2nd are to dark
#2 aren't as snappy as new strings usually seem. Little lower in tone, but they just sounded a little warn in. I wouldnt kick'um outta bed for eating crackers.????
My bass already came with string when I bought it 20 years ago, why would I need to buy strings that don't come with a bass?
I can't get any brand of bass strings cheaper than $50
My Earnie Ball flats roundwound 5 string are $60 a pop
What bass type is this?
The hand position makes it impossible to tell the difference fairly but I’m gonna guess the 1st is cheap. I’ve tried really cheap strings before and they were all high end and close to no low end.
I notice that youre playing it on different place, which is kinda bait
But to me the quality of neck pickup aound of the 2 string feels like a dead string, unpess you also roll off the tone on the 2nd clip then thats the cheap one
My guess is the second clip is with the expensive strings
I use Musicians Gear strings $12 for a 5 string set.
Big difference. I actually think the first ones sounded better.
What was the difference? Rounds and flats? Here roundwound Super Slinkys are around 20 bucks a pack. Flatwounds again Ernie Ball Slinkys are 50 bucks for a set.
It sounds stupid but i will boil my roundwounds when they get a little cruddy and then soak them in a quality gun oil and wipe them off with acetone and sounds almost like brand new flatwounds. Roundwounds I just replace. But you should get at least double the playtime on flatwounds as you do roundwounds before the E string starts sounding dead.
Set one have a slight sinus problem.
2 is without doubt better quality if they are £5 or £35, 2 wins.
2
Baby sapko
I like 2 its warmer.
#1 is definitely brighter, I guess it’s just a matter of preference or what your looking for I could see where you would choose either if one fits the song better. Don’t think either is what I would say better
1=cheap
2=expensive
I think number 2 are the cheaper strings.
1 = the expensive ones?
The second set had a richer more solid sound, those would be ones I would put on my jazz. The first set sounded like guitar strings. In my opinion.
1st bright, 2nd muddy. 1st cheap
They both sound fine, it's all good. I like number one
Not sure but I much prefer no.1
Just buy flatwounds and keep then on for a couple of decades… ????
Number 2 is the expensive set of strings.
Don’t be a cheapskate. #reassuringlyexpensive ????
$5 bass strings exist?! I know he said "£5" but still….
The first ones are steel, the second are nickel?
Or at least, that's what it sounds like to me. 🙂
i like one better but i think 2 is more expensive
the difference is how long it will take for it to lose its luster.
2nd was way damp.
#1 are the cheapo strings. They sound like guitar strings with how much treble they have. Terrible. #2 sound like quality strings.
2 dearer 1 shite. I’m probably wrong I’m a drummer.
#1 sounds best
#1.
2 expensive.
#2 feels/sounds like the spendy set. Warmer and fuller. #1 is kind of brittle.
35 pounds for bass strings is really heavy ???? mine are way less than a pound
I’ve been a bassist for 30 years and couldn’t tell you which cost more lol. All the different brands from different factories and different formulations make this quiz impossible as presented. I assume that’s Danny’s point in posting. If there is any advantage to more expensive strings, sometimes they last longer than the cheapest. I know from experience DR’s stay in the sweet spot for longer than most other popular brands, but they specialize in stainless strings, it’s at least partly a formulation thing. Their nickel plated strings perform more like other brands’ nickel plated strings.
What is guaranteed is different formulations and manufacturers’ strings will sound different. The best strategy is, if there’s a cheap set you like, you win 😉 .
2nd?
More interested in why your voice sounds different.
No 1 Sounds best but I don't which one is the more expensive
Okay, but how much in real money?
2 its sound like there is more bass
Hard to tell, not the same playing style. The first ones sounded brighter, like Ernie Ball Super Slinky (which I use)
if you want bright strings get 1 the duller ones 2
Absolutely
