RIP Alan Holdsworth 🙁
"by the third time you're gone"
Thats….Victor is fucking incredible…
“By the third time you quit listening to me”… *justin chancellor plays Rosetta Stoned*” ????????????????
I'm looking for this rhythm to zone out on ,but there is just a scrap here and there . The playing is too tricky ,clever and snags my intellect to listen while I want my soul massaged with funky rhythms
I've watched this guy's videos and I love how he expresses his music into music theology and feeling. Great bass musician.
Despite of how racist you could be, we all have to agree that black people don't play music: they ARE the music
Thank you Victor.
Thx Doc.
Come on Victor Wooten you are the best. come on come on I support you????????????
how simple was the movie "Jaws" theme. Bet no one will ever forget that.
você viu aquele mano na porta do bar
Amazing
I love that Michael League from Snarky Puppy is just sitting there mesmerized. ????
dude's on another level, bravo
LOVE THIS!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Simple Good. I tend to play too many notes.
you know what he says about pulling people in makes me think of Tool’s Parabol / Parabola sequence. Parabola is an awesome song, very technical, very intense, and has a lot of changes in vibe throughout the song. It can be a lot. Maybe too much if it was just a single. But you put Parabol before it, and it becomes more of a story, something that you lean into out of intrigue at first, and then sort of takes you on a ride that you are invested in. Anyway I just thought his words reminded me of how those songs work.
He kinda sounds like Denzel Washington if you close your eyes ????
He's not bad as a bassist but his grooves are not THAT great as he likes to make believe. His stuck-up attitude is the ice of the cake.
He is speaking a truth that most musicians (especially Gospel cats) simply do not understand. Simplicity.
I like how he connected Maya Angelou's quote to his style of playing.
anyone realize he sounds like a young denzel
This guy is a true elder
Absolutely needed to hear this. Thank you!! ????????????????????????
0:42 he says you will be gone by the 3rd time and thats the power of being simple – if it's simple why you leave?
Anyone know the notes or tabs for the beginning
This is such a great lesson and it really works.
This has got to be one of the coolest videos on YouTube.
Wooten's not a bass player. He's a philosopher who plays bass. You're not listening to his bass- you're listening to Wooten.
Wooten is god!… salute
Welcome ???????????? to Kenya soon,
VICTOR WOOTEN, are you in Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful book of Bass ?
So how come so many Classical works are still remembered so well today in 2024, centuries after they were written, performed and in recent times sold on playback media? Those were not based on primal instinctual grooves and dumbed down sparse orchestrations and short motif melodies, so that the mind of the ordinary person could handle it. Back then they wrote for a higher purpose, writing music like they built homes and palaces….to last the test of time!
