Hi Everyone! Today we’re reviewing one of the latest and greatest of the Sire V series basses, the Sire V8. This bass takes a lot of the great ingredients of the original V series and adds some upgrades including a killer roasted maple neck with pearl block inlays, an upgraded Marcus Miller Heavymass II bridge, and some great (though limited) color combinations. Plus you also get the incredibly robust and well priced Sire Bass Gig Bag. Should players swing for the extra cost of the V8 over the lower tier V models? Let’s find out!

Hi, thanks for your reviews, they’ve been really informative and helpful to me. I’m considering buying a used 2023 v7 (2nd gen) for £250 (4 string). For the price and in your experience, would you say go for it? Do you recommend I mod it at all and if so what with? I also need a DI box and wondered at whether there’s any that you’d recommend to go with it (plus or minus amp modellers etc)? Style wise I play neo soul, pop, but not much slapping. Thanks so much!

Hey Lobster, thank you for this very informative Video. Id like to ask, if you think the v7 and v8 sound very similar or if they have a relevant sound difference? Im considering buying a v7.
Just want to say, I bought the v8 Sire 5 string because of this video. I absolutely love the bass and I bought it with the mind to swap the electronics but after recording with it, I’m probably going to leave it stock. It rocks!

I put Sadowsky J/J pickup set in my Sire V8 and oh my gosh, my jaw dropped and I was scratching the floor with it for a long time
Alright, I hate to ask you this question Lobster but……do you think Sire is actually roasting the necks? I noticed a dye job on the battery box cover of my V7 and it’s made me paranoid. I have my eyes on a V7 but I can’t get that out of my head.
