How to Make Your Acoustic Guitar Sound Like a Sitar
A VERY simple and safe way to make your acoustic guitar emulate the sound of a sitar. One easy step! (The video has two, but after messing with it I found that the first step is unnecessary.)
The guitar is a Taylor 514ce and the strings were Elixir Polyweb .12 gauge.

Love it! And so simple. I’m gonna try it on an otherwise crappy acoustic guitar. Thanks!

Genius! Thank you.
Good classic.
Spoonman!!
Awesome!
Brilliant
I'm a synth player who's attempted approximating the sound of a sitar, but I must say this is one of the coolest things I've seen. I came here after watching Rick Beato talk about Steely Dan using a modified electric sitar-sounding guitar, which basically sounded like George Harrison to me, but this is way cooler than that! I've already forwarded this to my guitarist buddies. Thanks! And I hope you've been doing well for the fourteen years since you posted this. Oh, and past-you, things suck now, stay back in 2009!????
Brilliant
Nice effort
Awesome tutorial bro….I wish I had seen this 10yrs ago
And the top 4 strings sound something similar to a Tanpura. This is just AMAZING
Just loved it ???? You are genius
