Origin Effects Super Vintage BassRig // DI & Amp Out sound examples
So I got the brand new Preamp by Origin Effects in my local music shop.
The video isn’t sponsored, it’s just my quick demo of it and honest opinion.
I recorded the pedal on its own, into my Antelope Discret 4 interface.
As mentioned, this video is split in 2 parts, first the DI out (XLR) , then the Amp Out (1/4 jack ).
I played every single audio clip, and set for sounds relatively clean, because that’s what I use most of the time.
However this pedal can do far more overdriven sounds, by turning the drive knob up.
For this video I was using:
-Mayones Jabba 5 bass
-Vovox cables
-Into logic Pro X DAW.

Hmm i was under the impression that the amp out is similar to a bypass with slight eq modification but this confirms it is not. So with this pedal you cannot have xlr going into DI front of house and an un affected tone going into your amp, am i right?
Great demo! I experience some hiss from the amp out- I don't hear any in your demonstration. Can you offer any advice on how to reduce/eliminate this?
Awesome review. Even though the tone is clearly in your hands, the Ampeg sound is definitely there. Is your bass active or passive?
Nice!! Is your Jaba 5 a jazz or pj?
This is the best demo of this thing in my opinion. Everywhere else it's all just the most "classic" tones/settings and it never goes through all the settings, which I don't understand for such a big purchase. All the demos showcase setups and sounds that I don't gravitate toward at all, so thanks for showing a wide variety of sounds with something else than a P or J.
Tks fror the great tips of sounds! I've just purchase one and this was nice way to know how it sounds
Tim Commerford tone
Sounds sick dooode????
How do you like it going through the amp ?
Can the cab sim be turned off? Wondering how this would sound with it off using a Cab IR instead.
Sounds great even on my phone.
But it sounded good before the pedal!
