  • Ive an acoustic new bought in '76.
For the electric question: go Gibson / Fender; the originals always outclasses the lot.
    .
However, on playability Ibanez is topnotch.

  • I'd wonder which one plays the best.. I played a jcustom once, it beat every other Ibanez I ever played, just didn't want to put it down. The walnut rg has ridiculous tone though.

  • I’ve always disliked the bridge pups in my JS1000 & 1200. Neck pups are good. Like what you have in your JS. Something to look for.

  • Ive been a pro musician for 27 years, I've been lucky its put a roof over my head, I do mainly session work now. Im being serious its more of the way Rick plays that makes the tone….they in the big picture ALL of the Ibanez sounded very similar.

  • Ok this must be the book of the most Ibanez jokes..so I'll spare you. I think everyone was waiting for a cross comparison of various Ibanez guitars. I hate it when I speak my mind and don't just say "great video".in the offhand chance Rick you read these comments, I was blown away by some of your legato licks…. you're a monster player without doubt. Had no idea you were that good. What was underwhelming however was the tone. It sounded thin and like cheap pickups on my cell phone so I switched to my Apple Mac with hot speakers. Sorry same listen. It almost is akin to the sound of a fender squire through a fender champ amp.ok so it wasn't that bad, but the sweet-spot in tone colors just isn't there. Not sure if it's the guitar or your amp. Little sustain , thin sustain and pinched harmonics that dropped quickly instead of adding more tonal variety. I only know it's not your playing it's something in the equipment. I know a fatter tone with better gain/ distortion but clean distortion and sustain would make the difference between day and night. I think it's the pickups but don't know your amp/effects configuration. All my opinion which counts little but I'm still a big fan ????

  • Well I loved them all. That said I’m a saber guy I wish you would have used at least one S series in the video.

  • I'm partial to the first one with pink quilt top, and mother of pearl binding. I owned that very guitar; purchased it new from guitar center arlington tx in 1999 or 2000 for $3,200 us dollars. I was a teenager made some regretful decisions, and lost that guitar to a fort worth pawn shop. Till this day at age 41 ive never owned a guitar of that quality, and ive had alot of guitars. I do still have the rare case that guitar came with in prestine condition; blk case with gold hardware, and combo lock, stiched on leather case ends, crush velvet interior, with pink ibanez logo on bottom corner of case. Great playing, and videos; i thought i would never in my lifetime see that beloved guitar again, and i found your video ????
Take care & God bless, Brandon ????

  • RG 10 was my least favourite. The first and second was "best" to my ears in general. The last one I liked the highs on… smoot and "sharp in a good way". Maybe not as versitile as the other two though. The RG 10 wasn't bad. It's really small margins between them.

  • What about the tone of your voice over recording? hehe. The camera audio sounds awful.
Love the guitar tones and your playing though 🙂

  • You are fast but the leads are not saying anything. No disrespect but it just fast and its like on some landing notes its nails on chalkboard…

  • The 2nd guitar has a sound that make the higher string and lower string to be balance in sound and the 3rd one is super good in high notes sound.

I want the 3rd one but i want also the 2nd one cause its so balance in all fret

  • 90% of your tone is in your hands!! Personally I'm not a huge fan of Ibanez. They look nice and play ok but they have no bottom end to them at all. You can't get a good chunky chord out of them. They're a good first guitar and basically good for soloing. For the same money you're better off with an entry level Jackson.

  • All amazing guitars just like the playing. Does anyone bother with a Gibson of Fender these days except the endorsees?
