S the bridge an fingerboard ebony? It doesn’t seem as dark as I expected
Don't like the thin neck.
I hope they dont discontinue The M 36
I only watch these videos to see Cooper shred.
A resounding “yes” on the return of a mahogany topped D-17. Mixed feelings on the changes to the standard lineup. They’ve already “Reimagined” the series starting with the D-18 in 2012 and moving up through the lineup in successive years. At the same time, they hit the ball out of the park with the “Authentic Series” and filled in the middle ground with the Modern Deluxe. Then there are all the custom shop offerings. I see the current changes as being of little consequence and, more or less, just some ordinary advances they needed to apply to lessen the blow of the increased price. People expect minor changes the go with the necessary price increases that all brands must apply to stay competitive and profitable. Don’t get me wrong, it looks great and sounds great, so it’s probably a “duck”….but a high-quality duck!
Cooper!!! One of the best demo's ever.
Great demo! Well, my plans to buy a 2018 era D-28 just got squashed. Will wait to play this one now!
No liquid medal pins?
At this time I don’t see the pins on the website. The bridge on the 2025 models is canted, prior bridge pin holes were vertical.
I love it!
Happy belated birthday, Granny and Cooper's dog!
There are so many guitars out there that is exactly on par with martin for a fraction of the price…just che k out the yamaha ll16d for instance…1/3 the price and hand crafted…Martin is almost fully automated…even their final buffing is done on a robot bit yet their prices keep going up…Too many other nice equivalent guitars unless your a cork sniffer or brand snob…..
Is the sweater a reference to the song or the band?
Omg Cooper! You should be the one playing the guitars on these demos! I'm sold! No shade on Chris. But when you play the D-28, I'm ready to buy it. You should play more of the demos!
I love my D28 but spend most of my playtime on my Atkin these days. More like a HD28.
Aesthetically these newer D28s are prettier than my 2011 one somehow. A little more yellow? Not sure what it is.
The binding is Guaranteed to fail. Another, authentic, vintage, classic, historical, sinker, original, real, torrified, definitive, outstanding.and authoritative, CF Martin IV signed, Gruhn Special, Clapton’s clap, and actually a new rendition of the same guitar D-28!
D28’s are amazing. I have one made in 2021. Sounds better every time I play it.
Wow that sounds like no D-28 never played or heard. ????
I have a 1937 CS D28 with this bracing. Its good, but I have to admit that I really like the standard bracing of the current D28. Maybe now I can find a 2024 at a great price to add into my set.
Sooo looouuud
I didn't know Bill Ward worked at Alamo Music Center.
NEW LEGEND D28 2025 ,SOUND IS GREAT .THANKS
The Martin website says this new D-28 has Golden Era scalloped bracing–that's exciting!
Great demo Coops. And you are using “fingerboard” ???????? ????
I bought a brand new 2024 D-18 two months ago. Now you’re telling me the 2025 D-18s have Golden Era bracing. Gee thanks, Martin, for letting me waste $2800.????
Not sure how that's a Golden Era bridge with a drop-in saddle. Shouldn't Golden Era be a cut-through saddle?
Sounds like a keeper….
You get yourself and your dog a slice of cake Cooper ! ????
Good job, what strings did you use ?
Did they change the color of the logo?
The plain simple truth is Martin guitars are way over price for just being a guitar. I don’t care how good or great they sound because I have the D 45 the D 35 the D 16 all amplified with the LR bags.
Just play the damn guitar! Too much introduction talking let us hear it
Sooo… about that potentially scalloped bracing…?
I’m a Martin fan (not as big as you!) own two models, have owned 10 others, but I’m not sure about thinner fretboards. Not sure what that does and if it’s a good thing.
Thank you for your videos
What's the point of having all these great guitars if no one is writing great memorable songs anymore. Guitars have become wall decorations dust collectors.
Well hell, now I've got to sale my 2017 model. Then get one of the 25 model. Damn it
So, I criticized Martin in this comment group around 30 minutes ago and they deleted it!
Pathetic!
Martin has been ripping off their customers for decades using everything but mahogany for their guitar necks!
Why haven’t Martin customers protested?
Every reputable guitar maker knows that mahogany is the standard wood for guitar necks. Yet, you’ll pay multiple thousands of dollars for a D-28 and get “mystery wood” for the neck!
Martin has been scamming people for too long !!
Just more HYPE to sell guitars . We have all seen it before. The Game goes on. Next Gibson will try to one up Martin. Nothing really new here, But they always Hype it up to be the best thing next to sliced bread. To try to separate you from your money. It's just the business . I won't be jumping up to lay down over $3,200.00 bills for a overpriced Martin.
Wow the ways they try to brainwash you , and it works, on some. That's what they count on. Martin & Gibson ARE NOT the only good guitars out there …………………. There are a lot other brands , just as good , and maybe Better …..
the martin fan boy will love this lol ……..
The Gold Standard! The world is full of guitars that are as good or better but… My collection is a Strat, Tele, Paul, 335 and a D-28. (ok, I got a couple of Ibanezs cause they're so good; couldn't help myself; ????)
hoping they have addressed and fixed the binding issue that has been prevalent for many previous years-they can ask Bob Taylor and he can help them if not-this is not a joke, it is an issue that is real. yes i own 5 Martins and many other brands.
Let me guess. Price keeps going up. Lol
And also new neck shape ! GE modified low oval. I wonder how it feels compare to the previous one.
Yawn.
What pick are you using?
Bought a HD 28 last year- buyer beware. $3300 is too much money for such poor value. Mine needed a neck reset after 3 mos of humidity controlled ownership. The heel to body joint came loose. The factory did a neck reset under warranty but my fretboard is now like a rollercoaster- very disappointed. Save a couple more thousand and get a boutique- I imagine a much better value.
I dont like the thinner fingerboard thing.
Maybe i am just a bit cynical, but it kinda sounds like martin just replaced the D-28 with a slightly updated HD-28 just to justify the higher prices. Still a lovely guitar, but that price hike is a hard pill to swallow
Sound sampling a D-28 without even hitting so much as a bluegrass G run lick is blasphemous.
Happy born days & re- birth day Martin D-28. Enjoying my Martins too nothing like them to my ears.❤
I’m happy about the addition of GE bracing in the standard series – that’s a huge upgrade. I have 2 custom shop D-18’s with GE bracing and a D-18 GE model – and they are far and away my best sounding Martins. I wish they would have addd wood binding to eliminate the 20 years of binding issues – but maybe another year.
