????Description: Before Gibson finally came out with the “Les Paul Reissue” in 1983, there were several “dealer” runs of guitars such as Strings and Things, Leo’s Music, Jimmy Wallace and a few others. The “N” serial Les Paul Reissues vaguely belong in that category. I’m not entirely sure if they were made just for one dealer or not, but the N stands for Nihon. There were ~100 of these made between late 1982 and mid 1983. It is important to not confuse these with other letter serial numbers like how the Heritage Series and Anniversary Goldtops did.

Perfect look for a lp. Needs a 60’s neck and I’m in.
Nihon: o sound is a long O sound like in hole or mole. FYI????
Man them tops on theses years are sick
I really love the first one you shown with the waves and the clown burst . It’s beautiful ❤
Now that's an awesome Les Paul, bridge pick up sounds as good as you'll get, and stunning colour.
nice looking guitar
1:01 Languages Mr.‼️‼️‼️‼️
????????????????????????????????????????
????©️-Ya. ????
Beautiful boat ⚓.
Those inlays are ????.
if something was spilled on it i would think it would have run down into pickup cavity no?
Speaking of 83, I'm hoping you can track down the Studio Custom and Standard for a review one day!
Those are great guitars. They were made at the same time as the Knophler "Money for Nothing" LP. I feel like I should clarify a couple of things after reading other comments here. 1) The Nihon guitars were not made in Japan. They were made in Nashville and shipped to Japan. 2) And for Pete's sake, the "female" names in the pickup cavities are NOT the name of some guy's girlfriend. They belong to ladies that actually worked in the finishing department.
The 137/138 Tim Shaws sound the best to my ear.
I think this guitar was on fire lol. like some on-stage lighter fluid antics
1:39 Such interesting info. A. We learn so much from your Gibson knowledge. And now I’m going to fix myself a Gibson ????…..oh wait…..it’s too early in the day for that. ????
5:35 That’s what “Jessica” would have looked like new.
Obviously without the pick guard and with uncovered pickups.
I have been watching Behind The Headstock, a channel run by two old Gibson managers, loads of great stories and information!
That’s a refreshing term for the phrase poop smelling knobs.
Acdc
Beautiful
Can someone please explain what ‘thin binding in the cutaway’ actually means? Thanks.
Rock machine!
Trogly, I don't know why you are hung up on Norlin-era Gibsons? I would never want one. But, to each their own.
When Trogly was moving the guitar around in the backlight photos and it made that squeaking sound…did anybody else start thinking about the episode of SpongeBob where he got those squeaky boots ?? LOL????
Beautiful top on that guitar! I like the extra carve and it sounds nice too!
1976 baby
Really like the top on this.
Japan makes the best guitars period! I have owned several MIJ, 1986 Matsumoku made,Westone Spectrum LX 198-mbk & Westone Spectrum sx & 40 years later, they still outperform every guitar in my 22 guitar collection!
This example is why people love Les Pauls. Cosmetically gorgeous and it sounds like a million bucks.
