That’s a pretty visual explanation on modulation pedals. Other than that, these modulation effects sounds pretty on bass. Personally I’m a huge fan of chorus and flanger effects. I have these pedals on my pedalboard and they sound phenomenal on bass. Clean and distorted. ????????
I appreciate the "non-technical" but well-thought explanations.
Chorus is my favorite effect so far. I just got a new amp that has a built in chorus and reverb
Why are you always soyfacing
Great demonstration Jonny!! No better way to describe the flanger than the mouth thing….
????????????????????????
I can't speak to chorus on 90s bass but it was big in the 80s, along with flanger. Hooky did chorus well before Nirvana. Simon Gallop (The Cure) used both, I think. Barry Adamson of Magazine used an MXR chorus, later Duff McKagan (Gn'R) would do too because of Adamson. Steve Severin of the Banshees used a flanger I believe.
Phase 90 all the way for me. Plus nobody uses it on bass and I kind of like that
i love the sound of chorus, i bought my BOSS Bass Chorus just because I wanted to emulate Peter Hook from Joy Division/New Order! and just owning that one pedal inspired me to write some amazing (if i do say so myself…) riffs in his style!
Flanger all the way. I use it to get that classic 80's jet sound and I love it. I use a Boss BF3 and it's one of my favourite pedals.
Love combining Chorus, Reverb and Distortion on bass, sound like the bloody colossus!!
Tremolo on bass? That sounds AWESOME! I’m definitely going to have a bit of a play with that. Thanks again for another rad video Jonny!
Can you do entire video where you you mimic phaser? I literally peed my pantaloons on that. I do love phaser, first then flanger then chorus then fuzz then OD
Love flange…never found a place for vibrato and trem
Still knob less on Squier!
Nice demo, but I beg to differ. Tremolo works beautifully with distortion (fuzz in particular) for a synthie kinda vibe.
Nice combo's there Jonny, some of which I would not of thought to use myself. Might go and try some new gear out when the shops re-open.
Mod-u-lations what you need…. if you want to be a record maker…..
Is that a Yamaha bb in the background? Review?
Hi Johnny, Excellent video!!! I love chorus on bass as well as reverb and delay. The problem with effects is they are so damn addictive. You can burn hours and hours just farting around. Maybe I need a support group. Very well done Johnny. ????????????????????????
Hi, Jonny! Any chance on reviewing that Yamaha BB? please say yes please say yes please say yes I love mine btw!
Phaser, FTW.
Great video Jonny! Keep them coming
Hey look its Hat Jonny
