The bridge pickup of his new signature model is the Secret. It is patterned after an old Gibson pickup that was overwound and just a cool pickups Landau had.
Inspirational – sad when it ended. Thank you
That was a great interview BadBrad! I have enjoyed Richards music over the years!
I studied with Richard at SC in the 80’s. He was a true inspiration then, and still is today! Great interview.
I laughed and cried, old friend. Erin Knight
I was born in 1987
Thanks!
???? how cool
Interesting and informative information and a great interview! I agree also that stoicism will make any player better, and a better person. Marcus Aurelius's writings are pure gold.
Never forger Professor Richard Smith, when I had an Urban Groove Phase he showed me so much in that style. What a great musician and teacher!
BadBrad is the guitar whisperer….
Great interview with Prof Richard Smith….
Thanks
Had the pleasure of playing James Tyler guitars a handful of times. To anyone reading, do NOT judge by the headstock lol. They are arguably the best electric guitars you'll ever put your hands on. Stunning fretwork on those things.
Really good stuff man
music school these days is a total waste of money it is for rich kids with no purpose other than to be gatekeepers or snobs. you can learn everything for free these days or with a few paid lessons .real jazz is dead only thing left is this is real jazz that's not real jazz blah blah
Nice interview, enjoyed it
When I was younger and didn't know near as much as I do now…but THEN? I did an amazing amount (comparatively speaking) with what knowledge and ability I had. Just had the REAL NEED for gigs, so was so much more aggressive. I suppose mellowing with age isn't always a good thing. I'd like to have my younger verve to go with my older skills…Wouldn't we all?
“The philosophy of life & getting through it.” I like that quote!
Thanks!
Thanks Bad Brad ????
Love rhe Sunday shows!!!????
Love this, thank you!! If I'd had the bread in the 90's I would've been there….went to Minneapolis because I could swing it financially.
I'm really enjoying this channel, Brad!!! Please keep it up!!
Incredible interview Brad!
Wow, Very knowledgeable, I didn't want it to stop, Looking forward for another chat from him. Great Guest !!!
Good Job Brad – Interesting Conversation. It connected cuz i'm in my 60's (but i still play now more than ever.) It's my go to place.
Just a note here, this is a great view from a Professor at USC.
