Crazy to see how big this channel has gotten since I first subbed. I recently ordered one of the TE-90QM models after a buddy grabbed one of the TV yellow double-cut and it was really nice feeling. He had me drop in a Jared James P90 and that thing is screaming! Hoping the fretwork on the model I get is as nice as that one. I hope the maple top pops as well. We shall see!
My wife and I really enjoy your videos, you have a guitar on the wall that is gold flake with white pick guard. Odd shape as the body is wide at the neck and narrow at the bridge. With a cool looking trem. I'd like to know what it is so I can buy one ❤
I didn't like the overdrive pedals, but that reverb on the short to medium settings I really liked. The kind of sound that I'm into (not the metalic-ness). It kind of reminds me a bit of that cheap Behringer one, which I also like.
I think that metallic sound might in part come from the rattle of the guitar itself that you mentioned in the begining of the vid. I'm guessing it's the springs under the saddles doing it?
And I think it's just in the way that the reverb reflects certain frequencies from the source sound, so that it might reveal metalic-ness more easily. This is where an EQ could come in handy 🙂

The studio reverb sounds kinda like it's based on the massive spring units thay used to use back in the day. The studio at our community college has the spring unit they used on Convoy.
I own a 25th anniversary edition JA60 in Firemist metallic copper. With the exception of the cheap mini pots and no factory shielding, this guitar is phenomenal. Including the $60 for shipping from Germany with a nice padded gig bag for @$320 bucks, is just an incredible value…. And if you live to mod your gear, this guitar as a starting point is a no brainer.

I’ve had some Harley Benton gear, and one thing I noticed with my HB guitars is that I had to set up the action and the fret board was warped. I’m glad that they’re improving quality. I’d love to see someone tour with it.
EQ and OD together is a smart pairing. Putting the EQ before the OD massively effects the response of the clipping.
