  • I’d didn’t really understand the 3 exercise. I kind of got lost a little bit. I’ll give it another watch and try to follow along.

    Thanks for your video!

  • Thank you so much Tomo San you are teaching the finer points that I needed I'm learning guitar for the first time and nobody I've watched so far talkes about how to practice

  • My memorization technique was "Even Angles Do Go Bad Eventually". But whatever works for you, and what you can remember is the key! Thanks Tomo for the great lessons!

  • I had your Ritter guitar instructional DVD and it was excellent however for beginners this is the best series on YouTube that I’ve seen… Thank you

  • Imagine a world where you can basically get world class Berklee music lessons from a world renowned maestro for free…oh wait, we are in it! What a time to be alive!

  • It's amazing that I've watched the triad vid and understand nothing from it .. But this vid make me understand it way deeper, now i know how much of a beginner i am actually ????

  • Doing the chromatic scale backwards is harder for me. While going up, my other three stronger fingers give good support. But while moving backwards, my little finger lands first and I need to place remaining fingers using it for support.

I'll spend some time practicing just this till i get some strength.

I think this exercise will also help me play the A/C# chord better with all the stretching.

  • I feel your calm my friend. First time I have listened to one of your tutorials. You are a good teacher!

  • Do your have lessons in chronological order, in sequences so that we can learn step by step. Here in YouTube I couldn’t find step by step learning process. Many of their videos are random and it just creates more confusion.

  • You should not teach beginners to use pickers then. They should use their fingers for finger styles. It will be more appropriate especially for acoustic guitars. Don't be a bad teacher then.

  • A very nice exercise vids thanks. Im learning guitar from piano i can imagine if u go straight to guitar without any previous knowledge of theory its gonna be quite challenging haha

  • HI, is there a practice I can do ,because I just press the strings down to hard and need to have a lighter hand on the fret board thank you ???? ????

  • Tomo you're funny! I enjoy learning from you. Thank you for your time! Last night I started doing the Chromatic scale (30 day routine) from a different video lesson you did.
It was tricky and didn't include as many details including how to switch frets to play down neck.
I'd play that video…rewind… play..rewind to see it easier. This here video made broke it down into easier steps. Thank you ❤ ????.
I think I should stop doing those 30 day 1212, 1232…practice (from "3 Great Exercises for Your Practice Routine" video) and do this Beginner Practice routine for a bit.

I'll do the "3 Exercises Routines) after getting a bit better..

I don't want to practice without having the basic good form you explain here.
    I love the blues! ????

  • I see a lot of fellow beginners commenting. I appreciate these videos as well. I got my first guitar/amp bundle for Christmas. I’ve been practicing a lot every day since the beginning of January! I have fender play until March and YouTube videos. It’s so difficult to decipher what to focus on first as a beginner. There’s a million videos out there.

  • Hey again my friend I know you mean well but the proper rhythms are the most important beginner lessons with chords ,because all the notes are in those chords, like my playing ,the hybrid rhythms nothing right but nothing wrong a fusion of the 2,which should twist your mind ,there’s more than the exact way to play music, have you listened to any of my music.the first 3 frets are the most critical for beginners to keep them wanting to play. I learned those notes cause they take you up the neck,it’s all about keeping the beginner wanting to play, nothing else my musically gifted guru.

  • Excellent. I’ve been playing a long time and will be incorporating this into my new practice ( just retired so have time). Still making noise….

  • Hi, Mr. Fujita, would like to thank you. I loved this way of playing in groups of 4 on the chromatic scale, trying to sustain the sound, listening. I am finding it a way to practice and be very present, attentive to everything and at the same time, attentive to every detail: the duration of the sound, not making noise. Sometimes simple things are that reveal complexity. Thank you so much from Spain, Clara.

  • First, I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! Very helpful!

I did have a question. When playing the C scale on each string, it gets kind of difficult on the both E strings and the D strings to play C scale because they’re kind of high on the fretboard. Any recommendations? Thank you again so much!! Your videos are awesome!

  • Exactly you started off basic then you started adding other things that confuses the beginning student. I have noticed a lot of YouTube guitar ???? video instructors do that. Label a tutorial beginner just to confuse the beginner by talking about things a beginner has no clue about and shouldn’t be instructed on because they are beginner learners of the guitar ????.
