Can this be used to mix two mics? Either 2 condenser mics or one condenser mic and one lavalier mic with a small pin..similar to a earphone pin..
Teja, just a suggestion. Please stop shaking the unit up and down. I cannot focus on it nor read the labels. Thanks
Is this guy suffering from the hippy hippy shakes, can't keep still.
I was excited to get the EDB-1and considered it the holy grail, and it sounded great – it started humming and crackling after about 5 mos. – As it was under warranty I rec'd another one. The exact same things started happening around 5 mos. in – mirror image. I had to get my money back.
Thanks for the demo, very interesting. BUT for future reference will you please hold the units still when showing them to the camera. Waving them around like that is very distracting and stops us seeing what you are demonstrating.
I could still hear your guitar when you muted the preamp. Was the guitar coming through the mic as well?
I don't know about the EDB-2 – I have the EDB-1… But concerning the notch-filter on the unit I have (EDB-1) – I don't like it at all – it is far from "surgical" as it steels away a lot of the overall sound. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good sounding Pre-amp, but if the EBD-2 notch-filter is the same as the EDB-1, then I wouldn't recommend it. Then you should check out the L.R. Baggs PARA ACOUSTIC-DI… there you have a really surgical notch-filter.
Check it out for yourself 🙂
Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a solid preamp for my Martin and this seems to be a legitimate contender.
Mr. Gerken Thanks for good Demos, except the handheld explanation is shakey.
HOW did you mike this video?? An excellent mid sound. It can't be the product.
Gr8 Tunes! Check out ours!
I just got the EDM1 and it's the business; a doddle to use and it sounds fantastic with magnetic and SBT pups. I have no idea what it's like with UST pups.
More DI boxes, effects, & anything else I can use to wring the sound out.
Nice preamp.
