Love it! I'm excited 🙂
best class ever
tasty solo. Great.
A blues player for some 53years,but stuck in pentatonic mode, and hearing phrases like these from,of course,Robben Ford and the like, and not being able to nail that sound or feel.Great lesson(53 years too late!) Corey……and that Epi is just fabulous!
Great lesson, thank you. Which model are you playing?
2 minutes in and not a single note.
Is that an A or D diminished arpeggio you’re playing?
????????????
That Epiphone sounds amazing
Corey, I too play a Epiphone Casino, and use the diminished sound preceding the 4th !
So in the a blues i use the a diminished starting from the a note and b diminished if im playing in the key of b, c diminished if im in the key of c and so on and so forth?
Awesome spice, thank you Corey.
This is really well done
Super lesson and lovely vintage epi!
I was going to say it but @Grey418 said it almost exactly below! I've done deep dives previously and ended up totally lost and in a dark place (you can probably guess where I mean!), but Corey has done just what you need to start! I tried peppering solos with dim and Alt scales, with sub-optimal results (!), which worked ok-ish over jazz basslines but too outside for I IV V blues. Walk, don't run! Following this lesson I quickly sounded miles better, thank you Corey! I'm very subscribed!!
Great lesson, thanks! I have started trying to introduce a bit of diminished into my playing and I wish Inseen this first…you just covered all the stuff in 5 minutes, which took me 3 weeks to work out lol. Nicely done…looking forward to catching more of your lessons. TG
Totally lost me
I love the way this guy plays and what a great teacher
For a moment I thought this was Anthony Kiedis
Not sure what I enjoyed the most… The lesson or that vintage Epi 335!!
Excellent explanation of use of diminished scales in more “regular” solo patterns. Thank you, Corey????????????????????????
Dug it!
7:30 if say that was very pleasing 😉
Juicy tone, tasty licks! ????
Espectacular, felicitaciones !!!
Not much Dim, but the playing overall is insane, that phrasing, woo
4:28
07:59 08:10 08:25 08:36 8:47
This is awesome and inspirational. cheers for the knowledge nugget!
This is gold Corey, thank you for kept it basic. Kudos to you for making the lesson easy to follow! (3:25 arpeggio sample)
What IS the model of that epiphone please ? Thanks
Corey you are the best. I discovered you by Truefire courses some year ago and then I followed you here. Great player, great teacher. Just what I was looking for these days.
Is there some of your Truefire courses that goes deeper in these stuff?
Is the dim. Arpeggio in A orD?
Hey Corey, it’s scott again from Detroit can’t get enough of this stuff can’t get enough of it
Amazing.
Great lesson man Thanks
Thanks I just saw this and had learned that if you move that shape up three frets you get this cool neo classical sound but how do I put to a key? Well I love sharing my 12 bar blues and any licks to help I want to know and this video just put the diminished arpeggio in my tool kit. Any guitarist knows that’s a gift ???? that I will get to use over an over. Thanks ????
Such a great lesson. Thanks Corey.
Diminished chords are a great fit for the blues! Transition chords!
Gotta give it to you Corey, you are one hell of a teacher. Great video. Thanks man.
Very good lesson thanks
Corey, are you related to the late Tim Coniglio of The Mauds?
Please post a follow up of this video would love to learn how to get that sound more in my blues ????❤️
So glad to hear someone say how there are many facets and techniques to getting the outside sound! Change the rhythm! There are others too. Like the way you think.
I love using diminished runs after the IV, when heading to the V or back to the I.
What a Beautiful teacher
Great vid. Super helpful ❤️❤️❤️
Always, always learn something new from your lessons.
Every time I see one of Cory's vids it makes me reach for my guitar. This diminished lick adds that dimension to me, is a head turner. i am one who needs to add some spice to my licks. i have some of Cory's lessons from Truefire and I reckon their the best bang for yr buck.
