  • Great video. Just an idea, if you really want the strings cut to a precise length it works just fine to cut them after installing.

  • Just a little pointer that I hope is helpful. Im a banjo player (so-called haha) and I love Nylon strings for a classical old-time sound. Like all nylon strings, they are a nightmare for stretching, but what the string-company recommends is some physical stretching. Tune up to pitch, then pinch each string one a time just before the neck and give a decent tug upward. Do a good 10 of these "tugs" and then repeat on the other strings. Tune up to pitch. Do it again. Tune up to pitch. And that should take a huge chunk of the waiting game away. Hope this helps? Remember – Nylon seems delicate but man can it stretch good!

They do make Bridge beads which you could use to convert regular Tie End Strings into Ball End Strings. It increases the break angle of the Strings over the Saddle.

  • These Strings are also great for very old Acoustic Guitars that were originally designed for Sheep Gut Strings (nowadays it's Nylon Strings).

  • The neat thing about Ball End Classical Guitar strings is that they make restringing the Guitar a Snap. It also lets the strings come out of the bridge at a steeper angle towards the saddle which improves the Guitar's sound.

  • Bronze basses – the three bass strings (E, A, D) are bronze-wrapped with a nylon core.

  • Nylon strings can be physically stretched out a lot before they settle in. They can be pulled one a time, a few inches away from the fretboard. It will look like a bow and arrow, (almost). Do that 10 times in one sitting; retuning in between.

  • 6:40 actually people do this all the time!!! String manufacturers specifically make nylon strings for acoustic guitars!

  • I know a lot of people say “oh you must change your nylon strings frequently because they go bad” but in truth for any amateur who plays for themselves or learning it cannot matter as much as some people say. As long as they get tuned and produce the correct notes it will work. I have some guitars whose strings are old. They sound very good.

  • I like these strings. They're what I use on my classical guitars. The exact same as I have on my Cordoba fusion. New strings make the guitar sound like an entirely different guitar. I've been doing this, restringing, for a number of years and I learned about running the end of the string back down in the hole from you. Thank you for making this video!

  • Aren't they meant for a "steel string"-type acoustic guitar?
As it is, you're putting nylon strings on a nylon string guitar. It's like bringing beer to Bavaria.

  • I read the lower three strings 4th, 5th and 6th have a nylon core with brass winding. Pure nylon strings on the bottom three would be to floopy/loose.

  • These are standard good quality daily basis strings to use, I've used them all the time when played in school on my classical guitar. They hold the tune okish not the best and sounds good. For a beginner, of course, those strings are more than enough.

  • It is such a nice idea, putting bronze on a classic guitar. And they sound pretty good right?
Not a bad thing, though they sound different from the usual I expect. So it might color the music you play with it.

But hey that is the fun of trying different strings right, different sounds and feels.

  • Bronze basses means the 4th, 5th, and 6th bronze stings in the set are made of bronze.
