In the tone zone just nowhere near as huge. EJ sounds like he's playing a thousand pound violin.

even through johnsons gear, he sounds nothing like him, and the tone doesn't sound as good. only eric can do eric and achieve that tone. turns out that a part of someone's tone and sound is in the fingers.

Proving once again that technically one can get "close" to Eric's or Eddie's tones but as far as sounding exactly like the legends? Impossible. Their playing is in the DNA.
